Just remember that the comics are only used as a rough blueprint for the show. IOW, just because it happens in the comics doesn't necessarily mean it will happen in the show. /shrug
And yes, the comic series is still ongoing--it's currently at 152 issues and going strong. For a point of reference, the upcoming season finale will likely culminate with the events of issue #100... So the books are still WAY ahead of the show. Tbh, it will take several seasons just for the show to catch up to where the comics are now(if done right.) A LOT of shit happens.

Meh, Kirkman himself is the first person to admit that he'll flat-out lie to fans about upcoming plots of TWD if he thinks it will heighten the reading/watching experience for them--he admitted as much in the 'Letter Hacks' section of the most recent issue, in fact:

Well, I don't know about that, in the booksSpoiler:
the people at the outposts were the more deranged/dangerous and he sent them there to keep them away from the Santuary's normal people. But yeah, our guys must be feeling pretty cocky right now.
Anyway, I think the success of Rick's group thus far is only being highlighted so much because
Spoiler:
it will be SO much more devastating to them when Negan bludgeons them off that high-horse, and makes them realize they aren't shit.
Sidenote: I really like the whole "WE ARE ALL NEGAN!" concept his people automatically defer to. Shows you the kind of unbridled power he has over them. 👆

These should technically just be Negan's c-listers. So yeah, they *should* be more incompetent than Rick's group.Anyway, this was yet another great episode. This season is killing it so far. 👆
Despite a so-so plot I still enjoyed last night's ep, the four people were all fairly unlikeable.
Not a fan of Carol seemingly getting the Morgan treatment of becoming soft, hopefully they don't dwell on this for too long and she snaps out of it.

I enjoyed the inner turmoil/conflict Carol and Maggie underwent during in the recent ep., what with having to ruthlessly murder others and whatnot--but yeah, I hope they aren't given the Morgan-pussification-treatment. That kind of shit is only tolerable in [very] small doses. It has basically ruined Morgan's character for most of us.
I wouldn't be surprised if
Spoiler:
Carol ends up sacrificing herself to save Maggie of somesuch. Seems like the direction she might be heading, imo.
Originally posted by Galan007Yeah, pretty much. I liked how the redhead, even though she admitted being a cold blooded killer, actually agreed to release them until the fear/paranoia kicked in.

I really hope that moment in your spoiler plays out similar to the source material and they don't rush the aftermath to take us you-know-where.

Meh. She already showed discomfort when she had to kill the wolves that jumped the wall in Alexandria, when she did not want to kill Morgan despite being the most viable option, etc.
Her not wanting to kill Morgan isn't a good example, he's part of their group and Rick's friend.

But yeah, I don't think they should dwell too much in this pacifist nonsense, with the asinine Morgan is more than enough.
Originally posted by Adam GrimesI honestly think they'll do it justice. It's hard to imagine them inextricably rushing the plot at this point in the story. /shrug

I don't like how sudden Carol's morality shift happened. It came out of nowhere.
She sympathised with the bytch, is all.
Remember, Carol was basically a useless housewife, just like her comic book counterpart. But while her comic book self died, her tv self got remade into a killer, to survive.
And in the end, that's what she is, a survivor. She does whatever it takes to keep going, things she never thought possible.
But she was lucky enough to be in a Ricks group, where she has a "safe space" so to speak. She could very easily have become a sociopathic killer among socionpaths herself, just to survive..
