The dumpster scene was ridiculous and Glenn had moments of stupidity, but I'm still going to miss the bugger.

Glenn's death probably surprised a lot of people specifically because they went out of their way save him. Pretty sure that was all intentional, to swerve non comic book readers.
And the Abraham thing was to swerve us. Got to admit, I didn't expect the Glenn followup, and kept expecting him to off Maggie (OOC for the comics, but that never stopped tv writers before.)
But thinking about it, Glenn and Abraham were the only disposable choices, if you plan on keeping close to the comic. (And really, Abraham outlived his usefulness after that awesomely cold line to Rosita about realizing she's not the last woman on Earth. And hey, he's right. 🙂 )

Pretty sure them teasing his death multiple times was intentional, just getting the viewers ready for his actual death at the hands of Neganwhich they had already decided upon.

Wow.. That was pretty identicalAfter they teased us with that really crappy "death" last season, I was just glad he went out with a bang.
It's not even a comparison tbh
Negan is by far the most intimidating villain to date on TWD
Originally posted by Ridley_PrimeSee, I thought it was Glenn because Negan delivered the exact same dialogue while bludgeoning him in the comics:
When Negan said "taking it like a champ" as he was delivering his first beating, I should've guessed it was Abe, but for some reason I was still thinking it was Daryl at the time.
...So I was actually surprised it was Abe in that scene.
