One of the members of the force caught one(a few) dragonball(s) that Vegeta threw and brought it back before Vegeta even realized it. Goku was leaving afterimages for him and his partners. Even KID Goku was abullet timer.

How is Vegeta weaker than Thor? In the Frieza saga(manga) pre-SSJ Goku kicked down Frieza(from a few hundred ft up) through an island which caused the entire island to be destroyed. Frieza after having half of his body being cut off still survived a planetary explosion. If we powerscale from there, then Vegeta would be atleast in Thor's league. Stronger most likely.
