InFamous 2

Infamous starts where the the other game left off and with the beast wrecking Imperial city. The game starts in a new location called New Marais and Cole powers evolve and transforms him. Cole is now able to use Ice powers and has new melee weapon. Cole must learn more about himself and the first sons and ultimately how to defeate the Beast.

The game is set for July 5 2011

Going to meet The Beast at the start of the game, looking forward to that. Zeke will also get a redesign with I assume any other recurring characters.

I love Infamous. It was so much better than Prototype.

I'll definitely have to buy this one, too.

I await more trailers eagerly.

Why is Cole wearing what looks like Nike products? I liked the white leather jacket with the backpack that had a sly cooper logo on it.

It would seem that the good path is the only canon side to inFamous. Would be nice that whatever you did in inFamous 1 would affect the sequel kinda like Bioware's Mass Effect but I see it isn't taking that route which kinda sucks imho.

You sure that's even Cole? I mean, I haven't read anything yet, but that's a pretty drastic-looking change to his character model.

It's Cole. I kid you not. Why his character model is changed, I have no idea.

In an interview they said they've changed the character to make him more relatable to the player. (?)

If you're certain. Anyway, my only gripe about Cole was more with how he was animated. Visually, it had problems kind of opposite of Prototype; Where Prototype had weak graphics but well-animated characters, InFamous looked much better graphically but the characters had really 'goofy' in-game movements (Particularly Zeke and how he runs).

Anyway, I suppose I'd been hoping for a sequel to this over a sequel to Prototype; InFamous has more lasting appeal overall IMHO, and Cole came off as being much less of a pissy douche than Mercer ultimately came to seem in my eyes.

Overall, I suppose this game may get a little more spotlight this time around given that there are seemingly no similar-styled games competing against it this time around.

And should I ask what the heck that thing on his back is?

Relatable to the player? Surely I hope there's a custom option that the developers haven't announced yet because Cole looking sporty isn't relating to me whatsoever. If there is no custom option, then I guess Sucker Punch just wants Cole to relate to sporty people.

That's his melee weapon.

Well Cole is a urban explorer.

i dislike his new apperance but not to the point that i really care

New gameplay was just revealed showcasing Cole's use of his new electrified cattle-prod type melee weapon. It looks pretty intense and fun. The camera angles change when you finish someone off with them making it much more cinematic. I think inFamous problem was that it wasn't very cinematic, what with the Comic Book Style cutscenes and everything. Now the game is looking a bit more like Uncharted in terms of cutscene excitement.

Also I was excited when the action slowed down and Zeke was heard on the radio talking to Cole - it brought me right back to nostalgia for the first game running around catching Reapers and snagging blast shards. The parkour style climbing and running looks even sleeker than the first one - which is something to be impressed by.

Ionic Vortex looks ****ing ridiculous.

Edit: Followed it on YouTube. Holy shit. As much as I don't care for Cole's new look, the game looks amazing. I hope that I can take the lesson from this to never doubt Sucker Punch.

I'm already thinking that The Beast could be

Spoiler:
Evil Cole because there are two reasons I think of this. One, The Beast's eyes remind me of Evil Cole's eyes and two, I don't think anyone from Sucker Punch said that the choices made in the first game will be ported into the sequel which would seem that going down the good path is canon while going down the path of evil is only optional gameplay and for there to be a third Cole, chances are that he came from a different dimension so that way, there wouldn't be a major time paradox and coming from other worlds would have to make more sense since Kessler (Cole's future self) already has the time travelling thing covered.

Its not Cole, it is most likely going to be John who "died" in the second Ray Sphere explosion.

Didn't he disintegrate?

The beast came out of nowhere and so far John was the only one who seems the most likely to be the beast. Maybe its him from an alternate future where Kessler Cole came from.
