STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

I believe the slowed rate of play is due to current events in the main game... but Tillula, feel free to press on! You can jump the social hurdles of being a fighter template when you get to them.

Damnit, I have to speak. I enjoy the Obi-Wan role (addressed earlier). K, gimme a bit.

Anyway, the others can feel free to cut in whenever. I won't take offense to an interrupted monologue, especially since we probably don't want Tilulla leading negotiations for longer than is necessary.

Tilulla IS the scary warrior woman here...

But hardly a diplomat.

"And now you've met us," I begin. "I recognize your voice from our ship. High Chieftain, yes? As before, we're hoping to consult with your leader about our possible shared interests. Are there any more obstacles in our way?" I ask, gesturing at the crowd surrounding us. "We've been nothing but compliant with your followers." I let a slight edge into my voice at the last line, trying to insinuate that we might not always be so agreeable.

"Consider me your final hurdle!" Zarjab says. "I must be sure you are what you say you are. We must not waste the time of our Great One."

"And how might we prove ourselves?"

"A show of power, perhaps. Something that Malteen could do easily!"

The audience applauds at this.

I want to levitate the High Chieftain and bring him to us. I assume I need to blow a Force Point? Vera, Xeth, can you guys think of anything just as useful without using Force points?

No Force point necessary. What you need is the power Lifting, which is free to use (in a variety of ways!). Does Tilulla have it?

Balls, I don't. Now I know how Corran Horn feels. Alright, give me a bit to brainstorm. Could I just pull him to me? Or maybe some weapons/clothes/etc. I have push/pull.

Push/Pull only works with things that are small enough to fit into your palm. Zarjab appears to be unarmed.

Vera-Kin has Lifting. Can she do what Tilulla suggested?

Vera-Kin definitely can! Going to do so?

Do it!

Admittedly, I was doing it to be a hardass while staring him down. Vera might not feel so inclined, but it isn't my place to say. I only know that Ti would love to see it.

Vera-Kin will be no less fierce; she may be old but she has not forgotten how to act tough. She raises a hand and lifts Zarjab slowly and cautiously into the air, as not to anger anyone with sudden movements.

"As you can see," Vera-Kin says. "We possess the power to influence the Force to our will. A Jedi ability."

"A very Jedi ability," Xeth says. "Can Malteen do this?"

There is a lot of gasping and pointing as Zarjab slowly lifts into the air. You do so calmly and carefully; he floats for a moment before you gently set him down.

Instead of complimenting you on your display, Vera, Zarjab responds to Xeth's wisecrack.

"He need not make such displays to assert his power and wisdom," Zarjab says. "He is above the Force!"

Xeth bites his tongue, sorely tempted to tell Zarjab that none are above the will of the Force.

"I am sure," Xeth resigns himself to saying.

"Indeed, those with true power have no need to display it, except when absolutely necessary. Your master does sound impressive. The only remaining task is for us to meet with him." I stride up to him as I say this, move easily to where Vera has placed him.
