STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

And thus our adventure is ultimately foiled!

😄

...so anyway, grappling hooks.

Though I suppose the prudent thing would be to look for alternatives. Rexx, I quickly search the "safe" ground. Any other options for getting us down? Ladders, ramps, water slides?

There are indeed fire escape ladders leading down the side of the building.

Awesome. I head toward the safest looking ladder, and wait for Navir to go before following him. He can stare up at my ass while we climb down.

Vera-Kin volunteers to go first, having a strong connection to the Force so she can sense for danger as she goes ahead.

Then she can stare at Navir's ass. 😉

Xeth wants to go first because he has the acrobatics to recover if the ladder falls off. 😛

The ladders are completely safe and you make it down just fine! It just takes some time before you get to the bottom having chosen a tall building. You step down into a dusty, empty street.

Vera- you sense movement nearby.

Xeth notices Vera paying attention to their surroundings.

"What is it, Master?" Xeth asks.

You can sense it too, now, Xeth.

"Movement," Vera-Kin says. "We have company."

Vera-Kin remains calm and does not bring out her Jedi weapon of choice. She wants to see who appears.

"Be wary," Xeth says to his allies. "We don't want to be taken unaware."

Xeth readies his blaster, just in case.

Our group with their Jedi senses is not at all surprised then when Malteen's warriors appear! They emerge from alleyways, manholes, and windows in the area around you wielding a number of melee weapons, some with bows.

They act menacingly but do not attack.

"Are you the supposed Jedi come to meet with our god Malteen?" asks one, wearing cobbled armor and wielding a rake.

"Yes, that's us," Xeth says, slightly amused by the man with the rake. "Take us to your leader!"

I...appear to look menacing? Sure, that'll work.

What am I wearing? Christ, can I retroactively make sure I'm wearing Jedi robes? The menacing glower doesn't hold the same aura without it.

It is Intimidation to cow them in return, if you wish. The Force power Leadership helps here as well. Wear whatever you like! In your case your robes are probably a little more revealing that the stoic Vera-Kin or the battle-ready Xeth.

"Follow us," the 'warrior' says, and Malteen's men begin moving down the street toward what the astromechs indicated as the source of broadcast signal- an old radio tower.

Xeth will follow.

"Sense anything, guys?" Xeth asks Vera and Ti, more as a suggestion to keep their senses open than to see if they sense anything.

You presume too much! Why would my robes be more revealing? Well, ok, you have some reason to think like that. Well, maybe quite a bit. Well, maybe a lot.

No, they are traditional Jedi robes. My other clothing may be revealing (I haven't really gotten into this) but my robes are fairly utilitarian, and look billowing an ominous due to my small frame.

I don't believe I have Intimidation, and I was mostly just doing it for show. I follow Malteen's minions.

It must be said, Ti- you are not surprised that none of Malteen's lot use powered weapons. Everything they have is improvised or used to serve another purpose.

You could toast them with a lightsaber.

Noted. So, breaking character a second, do I have actual options for intimidating them other than what I'm doing? The closest thing I have to a Force power for this is Presence, which I wouldn't tap here anyway.

I think the rule is that if you don't have the skill you can roll off of your stats but with a penalty. Presence just gives extra dice.

Xeth follows closely.

Scan on their leader as Vera-Kin walks along.

How are Barker and Navir reacting to all this?
