STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Respite

Started by Digi69 pages

Epic. I apply Bodyguard to Xeth then, attack the mooks that were assailing Vera, and hold the fort for Xeth's return.

...

"HA!" I yell as I watch Xeth charge off toward his ranged attacker. I'm slightly jealous, and take out the frustration on some nearby followers.

Hint hint- you may want to swap out your Guard for another.

Oh. Right. I'm dense. Thanks Mr. GM. 😮

I swap out Guard for...well heck, I only have Forward Guard. Can I use that in conjunction with Focused Guard that I have out already? Or, wait, I tapped that, didn't I? Should be good.

The enemy goes first!

They can only be immensely frustrated when Vera-Kin disengages from the fight before they can even strike at her. All of their attacks miss thanks to Defensive Leap's Parry, and she's up with Navir!

Xeth chops down two warriors who miss him when he performs a Perfect Strike tap, flipping around them with style. One manages to hit for a point of damage, and the grenadier misses.

Tilulla is in a spot of trouble this turn. With her protective guard down, she is not generating much of a Defense and takes 7 damage from three attackers.

Barker does alright, borrowing Tilulla's Armor via Bodyguard since Xeth is out of range.

Xeth decides to be a remarkable swordsman and rolls 9 successes on 11 dice! This sees the grenadier rather dead and the grenade launcher dropped!

Tilulla performs overkill with her fifteen-dice attack on a mook. It's rather dead.

And Barker rips up another one.

Xeth is going to use Balance to avoid his enemies while grabbing the grenade launcher off of the floor!

Swap Perfect Strike for Close Quarters Gunman.

Damnit. I Bodyguard Barker and go after the remaining 2 mooks after me at the moment. I'm saving taps, that last one was wasted.

😬

I'm moving forward. I can assume that Vera-Kin is keeping with the plan. Also- refresh turn!

Initiative is to them. Barker uses a combined Duck and Street Fighter tap. He clocks a warrior as it comes at him and avoids everyone else before Vera-Kin starts lifting him up and out of the fight.

Xeth goes flipping around and grabs his grenade launcher off of the floor, but takes two hits despite his efforts. But now he has a grenade launcher...

Tilulla is remarkably missed by two warriors (which she kills) and kills the third in retalation for a 5 damage hit.

Excellent. I Bodyguard Xeth once he's back in range, and I should be able to start climbing soon, no?

I'm still a bit overwhelmed personally, so I'm saving taps for when they'll be obviously useful. I continue to attack mooks in the meantime.

This is a bit of a strange situation- normally you do not have waves of melee opponents coming at you with no end in sight. Your tap did save you a round's worth of damage. And now it's refreshed and you can bring it back in if you so choose.

Xeth will send off a grenade round at the incoming Maltites! Should be lovely with my Close Quarters bonus.

... you know, I may have to check that one. Technically, CQG says you get bonuses if using Guns...

And I'm correct. CQG does not work with Heavy Weapons. Want to change what you're doing, Xeth?

Barf.

Would Push/Pull be enough to throw my launcher up to Navir so that he can help out?

Sure!

Swap Perfect Strike in and CQG out.

Xeth is going to 'drop' his grenade launcher, throwing it up to Navir while quick-drawing his lightsaber. His action will be using Push to get it all the way up to Navir so that he can lend fire support.

Just waiting on Digi then.

Jesus. Cool stuff Xeth. I guess I stand and act useless, attacking Maltites. I Bodyguard Xeth, since he's doing the awesome stuff.

I need to learn my taps better, I feel like I'm doing this half-mast. Expect some more research before my next turn.

Might want to switch Focused Guard in if you're going to protect Xeth! Good idea getting the launcher to Navir.

Vera-Kin keeps lifting up Barker.

The benevolent GM will make the swap for Tilulla; it was what I was hinting at. You always want to be aware of these things.

Initiative is yours! Tilulla, having been free of enemies, rushes back over to Xeth and chops down a warrior, protecting the Geonosian from attack. Xeth tosses the launcher up to Navir, who catches it.

Xeth should have used Balance since he is not attacking (showing that even veterans make these mistakes). He is rather surprised by a shotgun blast that comes booming past.

Tilulla scoffs at her opponents this round. One of the Champions comes running toward her using her vibroblades! It misses and she manages to disarm him, causing him to drop the swords and take damage. She kills the other two attacking her.

Up on stage, another Champion has Xeth's sonic blaster. He fires at Navir. A combination of things means that Navir has nothing to worry about.

Barker is almost up, Navir is armed, Xeth has a shotgun being shoved in his face, and Ti is facing a Champion that just dropped her swords.

Lol.

I grab the swords, decapitate the Champion, and officially swap out for Focused Guard. Still new at combat, I'll get used to the interaction as I play more. Thanks though.

Should I start climbing? Xeth should be able to leap if memory serves, and I can make Vera's job easier.
