Cross-Genre Match #2: Darth Vader vs Iron Man

I'm pretty there are, but that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms, because psychic/psionic energy is not the same type of energy as the force. The force and the psychic forces in Marvel perform the same functions, but they are different forms of energy.

According to forum stips, CIS is on.

This largely depends on the version of Iron Man, but regardless I feel like any version is gonna be keeping on the offense most of the time. Vader has never used his deadlier force attacks like force choking and crushing while multitasking with repelling blaster fire and so on, has he? Cause that's most likely gonna be necessary.

It's classic red and gold.

He forced choke Jin-Lo Rayce whilst simultaneously dueling Cin Drallig with one hand.

That aside, choke would be a pointless attack to use here, imo. I think Stark could whip out some attacks in the time it would take for him to asphyxiate.

As seen at 5:55 here, he can crush things with a mere gesture, and with minimal focusing or concentration, and him choking out Xixor from the other side of the Galaxy shows that he's powerful enough to affect objects that are lightyears away. So, a crush would be his best bet.

With CIS off it's a crapshoot though. Whoever decides that it's time to whip out their best stuff first, wins. Neither opponent can take the other's strongest attack. And TBH, I don't think that would change even with Extremis.

But choke/crush is the only viable tactic. Iron Man has tons of ways to kill Vader if this were Extremis.

Is this was a contest to see who has more ways of killing the others that would mean something, unfortunately this is not such a contest. 😛

The fact that Vader lost limbs also cost him Force power.
The loss of limbs cost Vader a force power -- as his robotic arms made it impossible for him to generate force lightning. Any other 'power limitations' were self-imposed (ie. caused by Vader's inner turmoil.)

^ ohhhhhhhhhhh....So thats why he can't do force lightning.Thanks.

One of the things I find funny about Star Wars is that when Yoda trained Luke he neglected to teach him the most important technique he could have used against the Emperor: redirection of Force Lightning.

It looked like(in AOTC)that yoda was having a little trouble doing that.He had at least 800 years of practice.Luke is strong but he wouldn't have been strong enough IMO.

Granted, but couldn't he have taught Luke that a lightsaber can block it?

Or is that just something Mace could do thanks to his Vapaad?

Don't know why he didn't use his lightsaber. Can't answer that.Mabye he just didn't know...or he didn't have his lightsaber out(haven't seen ROTJ in a while).

Yeah, Yoda could have at least taught Luke that lightsabers can block force lightning. Had Luke known that, he might not have opted to throw his lightsaber to the side before confronting Palpatine at the end of RotJ. Heh.

Obi-Wan blocked Dooku's lightning with his saber in AotC.

Probably just didn't have time. I mean my God, Yoda barely had enough time to teach Luke how to use basic TK before he ran away to Cloud City... Then the next time they meet, Yoda dies.

It wouldn't have mattered. As far as lightining goes; ROTJ Palpatine>>ROTS Sidious>>>Dooku

Chances are, if Luke attempted to block it his weapon would have been launched from his hand just like Yoda's.

Mace could barely block it with Vapaad. The novelization describes the lightsaber so close that he was choking on ozone or something to that effect.
