Marvel's Newest Cosmic Event - The Chaos War!

Started by Colossus-Big C42 pages

pak said before the series started they agreed they werent going to make it a big abstract mash up

Well heralds and gods ranging from skyfather to elder gods have appeared but no abstracts really (Eternity and Galactus are the biggest we have seen).

Yeah no Watcher to tell of the grave danger, no Celestial to oppose the Chaos King, Agamotto and Co chilling in their realm, Death being chased off etc, etc. but it's cosmic!!! Or comic... hard to tell the difference at this point 🙂

They should have really left Galactus out of here. All he's done is stand around and got hit. There's not one panel of him doing anything effective. Surfer at least has done something. Hell, even Sersi has done things. Pak... actually, not Pak, but one of the tie-in writers should have wrote a little story with him in it. Not my only gripe, but it is the definition of jobbing.

In the meantime, Herc gets upgraded twice for one event. 😂
I foresee him punching the shit out of Mika Chaos King (because Mika was actually an interesting character).

But Galactus was needed to show how awesome Hercules is, think of how well he accomplishe that goal, by getting no time in the comic at all, and the few times he is there it's to show that it all depends on Hercules.

Gotta love it ...

Eh it was lame i was hoping Hercules was going to give Galactus a wedgie or at least a nutshot

Hercules is moving up the ladder man.

From Sentry to big G.

Spoiler:
Living Tribunal is next, afterward Bendis

Yet another disappointing event. DC's next big event will probably be a stinker as well.

ok, i just finished reading incredible hulks 618, and some crazy shit happened in the end with zom/strange. what's with zom here? why would he want to find marlo? to kill everyone or just help the chaos king get rid of death's influence? is he being controlled by the chaos king?

No need for that, Galactus is, based on the appearences already down in the mud for this event, unless something extremely unexpected happens in Chaos War #5, then this event was really nothing to write home about, in nearly all aspects.

True dat.

Both of the main characters of the books are pretty much the guys Pak created for this event (Ruined Chaos King, pretty much unexplainably upgraded Herc twice). Almost no one is getting any face time, at all. Thank God for Tie ins for some of these guys.

The two issues of Thor in it are way better than all the issues of the main series. Most of them are on that note...

Where the hell is LT in all this?

Is Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente really planning an epilogue for Chaos War?

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=29485

"Chaos War" is a gigantic event about the cosmic and mythological structure of the Marvel Universe, and as such, the fallout from the storyline will have a major impact on a number of elements in the Marvel U. "There are some pretty big things that will be revealed and there will be some genuine repercussions for the Marvel Universe," Pak hinted. "There are at least three places where you're going to see lasting effects from 'Chaos War.' We can't yet exactly announce where, though." Van Lente added, "One is a sort of major, across the board Marvel Universe change. I don't think it's ruining anything to reveal that the epilogue of 'Chaos War' will show up in a book that has the same initials as the 'Incredible Hercules.'"

If they are planning it, its probably a way for them to explain about Mikaboshi(aka Chaos King) on how he ended up on Earth specifically the Japanese Shinto Pantheon.

That's wishful thinking. They're not explaining anything except about the strongest force there is: The Hulk Force. I'll believe that they'll attempt to explain Mikaboshi's origins after I've read it from the book itself, and I have no doubt that explanation is anything more than an attempt. Also, this is Pak again trying to make his event relevant by trying to make up these so-called repercussions on the Marvel Universe. Cosmic this event isn't.

IS this worth buying?

I would agree w/ the things you said.Though I am interested on Pak's /FVL's explanation about Mikaboshi's/Chaos King's origins.Who knows?Either Pak's/FVL's explanation will be good or bad.

Can't tell since the book isn't written yet.But Epilogues are usually used to explain or retcon a story. They are sometimes used as tools to hint that a certain Character might return in future events.
