Next DCAU Feature: SUPERMAN/BATMAN: APOCALYPSE

That's cuz they tried to stay faithful to Michael Turner's work. Also his love of thongs, for some reason.

Just watched it.

Meh. It was ok. Couple of bright moments, but DC continues it's tradition of turning Superman in to everybody's punching bag.

It was boring, the comic was better and I didnt like DS voice. Ironside should have done it again.

I doubt Ironside would have made much of a difference. All they should have done, imo, is add a little base to his voice, and it would have sounded much better...

Superman TAS DS is still the best.

I've come to appreciate the DC animated films more so than the Marvel ones recently, so I was expecting another Public Enemies, Green Lantern etc level of animation. But this one just blew.

The story was weak, Darkseid was meh and I hated that they turned Doomsday into cannon fodder.

Doomsday was actually that way in the comic. They were imperfect clones (called "animates"😉 that were a mere shadow of the actual being.

Though they didn't reference that in the movie.

The reasons for the animation being what it was is because it was based on the work of Michael Turner, the man who drew the original arc. His art can be an acquired taste... Though Darkseid's face seemed off at times.

It was by no means bad, it was just that both Crisis on two Earths and Under the Red Hood were the two of the best DCAU features, ever. By comparison, it wasn't that great, kinda average. I suppose at least it's a very faithful adaption of the comic, right down to the panels.

Also, the voice acting???? What the???? Granny Goodness, more like Tranny Goodness, AMIRIGHT?????? AMIRIGHT!!!!?????

Aside from Darkseid's voice, which I didn't like at all (not nearly evil/menacing enough), I thought all of the other voice selections were excellent. Where the movie itself is concerned, I thought it was quite good up until the end. I REALLY wanted to see things play out like they did in the comics, but that's not what happened at all. So I was kind of disappointed there.

Still a pretty good flick, though. I'd put it in my top 5 DC animated movies.

I thought the fight sequences were some of the best I've ever seen in American animation...they almost rival anime fight sequences

there was almost never a dull moment

voice acting was good (DS was pretty good imo too)

one of the best comic animated movies

^ Don't get me wrong, the end battle was good, but I was expecting it to play out like it did in the comics (which imo is almost as badass as it gets):

Oh shit, I remember skimming through that comic. It was a way better ending than what we were giving.
