Torrent for me.

The "big fight" was the main reason i watched this movie. Sucked that they changed it, imo.

We all have contacts at WB.

It was actually better than I expected. I've never been the biggest fan of those Darkseid Superman fights in the comics, I thought the movie fight was actually better than the comic one.

All in all I would say it ranks above Crisis on Infinite Earths and Public Enemies and rates below Under the Red Hood (which looks the best of the DCAU movies).

Also in terms of showing the strength levels of these superbeings it was the most spot on comic adaptation. You can feel the power/strength of Supes, Darkseid et al none of the other features or even series really demonstrated them this powerful.

But it was completely different. Still enjoyable, just not what I expected.

As a fan of both Supes and DS these fights prove that some authors just don't get what Kirby's intent was with this guy. No way should Supes be able to beat DS in a direct physical fight, it just shouldn't happen.

He should push DS hard because of his speed and skill in CQC but in the end, DS is the greater force. Even if it boils down to just a physical fight... DS has had millenia dominating foes in war (in all its forms).

He'd stack the deck against Supes, he'd never fight him unless he knew absolutely that he'd win. Authors don't seem to get this guy, in recent memory only Simonson, Bryne and Morrison get him, he's not been a warlord for millenia for nothing.

The movie was actually trying to do justice to this power difference while at the same time demonstrating how Supes can win, the S:TAS episode "Legacy" is their best fight, because it's pretty accurate.

The disparity between the two wasn't the problem (at least for me). It was the fact that Supergirl got more of a fight than Superman did.

Had the fight gone exactly the same way with Superman instead of Supergirl, I would have been perfectly happy with it.

I get what you mean - she got more airtime with DS. That I didn't expect, but Supes put more of a dent in him so it balanced out for me.

I think the creators were giving Kara a bit more respect in this one, since she's always in Supes shadow in & out of universe. They probably figured that it would be the best way to cap off the finale, with her getting to steal the show a little.

That and a chick directed it.

Yeah, i said it... 🙁

What is Batman's screen-time like? Same as the book? Any great fights like in Public Enemies?

Batman has plenty screen time (as you might expect, it's called Superman/Batman afterall), but don't expect great fights from him, he is somewhat overmatched physically in the situations he finds himself in during this story.

There are better fights in this one than Public Enemies. Big Barda and Wonderwoman vs the Furies is a pretty good fight.

Also Superman and Supergirl vs Darkseid was very visceral, easily the most visceral fight in the movie and one of (if not) the most visceral the DCAU has seen so far.

Might want to re-read the story

they both appear there in the comic arc.

So is this worth buying or not. Better or worse than Public Enemies?

Really? Because I thought that fight was garbage. The movie's final fight was better to me, because the comic felt like another "Darkseid isn't really that dangerous" fight. The movie, despite the silly 'space' solution, had an absolutely incredible fight at the end, possibly one of the best animation has had to offer in god knows how long.

As he should be, but it was cool how Public Enemies(both the book and film) depicted him as a beast. I swear they potrayed him as if he were on Spider-Man's level, beating Bane with ease, slapping Shiva around, surviving against Freeze, Cold, and that other chick, etc. Fun book, fun movie.

This happened in the book.

The animation for this doesn't look promising. I know they're attempting to make it look like Turner's work(it doesn't come close) but the Public Enemies was really well done in this area. Meh. I'll try and rent it via Redbox.

Is this seeing Under The Red Hood?

Should have just called this; Supergirl origins. I wanted to see Superman and Batman like the title suggests, not 60 minutes of Supergirl trying to be an Earth girl
