I've tried the electricity powers; they're decent, no worse or better than any of the others.
TBH, with my Flash inspired (as in, ripped off) character, i've been using the super speed powers more, as they seem more like flash.
Haven't tried the Central City stuff yet though.
Those Paradox Wraiths are a ***** if you run into a nest of them by accident. I was fighting some Orange Lantern Constructs and the knock back pushed me into them. I almost didn't make it out alive.
Also, on a semi-related note, I really like the brawling weapon type. Been using it as Gladiator (who just hit lvl 30 tonight before the servers went down) and it's sweet dropping those ugly punches on NPCs. I especially like the double axe handle a la Hulk Hogan. Wish there was a leg drop, clothesline, and big boot. The punt kick is sweet.

I was doing the same, fighting some Orange constructs, and I had one of the Paradox Wraiths punch me so hard that I flew a couple blocks onto the roof of a skyscraper.
I'm now a member of a very active Marvel Based League on DCUO, "Ultimate Avengers". We all use accurate as possible Marvel Toons. They also have a Dark Avengers league for villains so I'm going to move my Apocalypse over. So far I have:
Apocalypse
Gladiator
Firelord
Red Shift
Ronan The Accuser
All very accurate (Red Shift came out really good once I figured out I should use the reptillian skin). I think I'm going to make Stryfe, Count Nefaria, Wonder Man, Bishop, Adam Warlock, and either Death's Head or Blackheart. I want to make Beta Ray Bill but the face is going to hard to pull off. With Red Shift the helmet helps a lot.
Is it a PVE league, or PVP? I've been thinking of making a Marvel character tbh, and I'd like to get in to a League, seeing as JAKE seems to be dragging his feet.

Same here; I use it on a few of my characters, and it does really good damage and stuns with several of the combos.
The lightning powers allow you to make quite a decent Thor. Big guy, flight, electricity powers and best of all - there is one two-handed hammer that looks a bit like Mjolnir (with a shorter handle) and when you get the skill point to use it as a decent throwing weapon - it also returns just like Mjolnir!
Very fun.
My favourite is gadgets, though - always been a sucker for Batman and Nightwing.
Made a sortova Batgirl now, but with a staff - I am pretending it's a quarter staff and that she is in training.
I've played this game for a couple of months now, mostly on PS3 - so far, it's quite fun. I have to say, the most exciting part is making a character like Deadpool and then coming up with your own one-liners in the fights...
One of my best experiences so far was the other day. I was pottering around, trying to build up marks of triumph for armour, when I see on the chat thing that a couple of people are looking for someone who has Wonder Woman as their mentor. Given that I had (which is the minority by far), I answered, and found out that they were trying to get the circe level feats.
So I led them through the two of them, mentioning in passing that I'm looking for the Aquaman belt. We finish both levels, and they seem pretty happy that they got their feats. I sign off to go to work, and I get home only to find, in my mailbox, the Aquaman belt sent to me by one of those girls.
Human decency ftw.

It's both. They have members that are strictly PVP (like me), but as a league member I'm obligated to help out teammates in PVE when they need assistance with missions and duos, so I just phase shift when I'm doing group activities and do my solo work on PVP. They organize PVP raids where we make a show of power and attack the villain nightclubs, and also we do bounties and open world missions in large groups and raid parties, as well as having competent teams for alerts and duos. It's been pretty sweet. The team members are all really laid back and social. Good atmosphere and a lot of comraderie. Plus since most members look like their authentic Marvel counterparts we get some really cool reactions from other players. I was using my Gladiator in a group with Wolverine, Hercules, Snowbird, Deadpool, and Hulk and we stood out in front of the police station in a group and a lot of players ran up to us and asked to join the league because of how cool we looked. Brought a nerd smirk to my face. One I earn the Ra's Al Ghul cape with the large collar my Gladiator's look will be complete. Other than the chest emblem and size of his mohawk he's pretty much completely accurate. My Ronan and Red Shift came out really well also. Can't wait to level them up. Also need to think of villains to create for the Dark Avengers villain team. I already have Apocalypse, and I plan to make Count Nefaria and possibly Terrax if I can figure out my approach to his look. I think I want a gun toting character though.

Interesting. I'd been thinking of making Cyclops, but all he'd have is heat vision and... well, that's it, bar some acrobat powers.
Could always go Colossus or Hawkeye I guess.
I was thinking of making Taskmaster and giving him dual pistols, sword, bow, martial arts, and rifle skills. I'm not sure whether I can have the skull mask and cape simultaneously. Might have to use the undead body type with white skin with the hood. Creating really accurate toons is fun in of itself. Looking forward to the changes they're going to add next year. Teleportation, super stength power set, magnetic powers, quantum powers, size powers. I may switch my Apocalypse over to a size power tank rather than a tech dps, but keep my hand blasts and brawling.

Where did you hear about those additions?
There on the Official DCUO Site forums. Likely to be released by May. I found out about it from members of my league. They keep tabs on all news about the game and have a league website. We were discussing it in a chat roundtable on Monday (mainly because I wanted to change Apocalypse from tech to mental, and then I was told to hold off because the new powers would be coming out in a couple months so it may be in my best interest to wait for the new dlc).
