Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Spoiler:
Yeah, I get the feeling that his backstory is a crock of shit just like his messiah schtick.

Lol.

It would be incredibly hilarious though if out of nowhere Amon just busted out with "MY CABBAGES!!!"

Man....the war may as well still be going on with all the firebenders being douche bags. Leading gangs, killing families, being Mako...

Bolin is still awesome. Not enough Tenzin. The action was cool though, with a lot of it's own charm but still got some of the classic avatar spirit in them. The need to be bigger though.

I really wish Mako wasn't the love interest...freaking Batman backstory.

Energybending should have the ability to transfer bending.
Imagine Amon with all 4 elements. awesome

Korra needs to go into Avatar state and pwn shit.

Or she could just stop sucking as a fighter.

Getting some serious Sasuke vibes from Mako. Not a good thing.

Characters that brood are so annoying.

Apparently he is supposed to be Zuko without the angst.

Which was Zuko's entire appeal and was handled, more or less, perfectly.

Mako just comes off as a prick.

Edit: Oh and don't insult Sasuke by comparing him to Mako. Sasuke was kind of a prick to Naruto but it was very mutual. He just tended to ignore everything. Mako is just a jerk.

Start of the series Sasuke anyway.

If nobody else is going to say this I will.

Spoiler:
Aand banged some chick without telling Katara and had another kid. Amon can energy bend, he HAS to be somehow related to the avatar. Or maybe it's Aang himself! 😱 Or maybe Zuko's kid seeing how Zuko was related to avatar as well.

Maybe Amon is Azula.

As much as I'd like to see that. We didn't see the energy glowy thing that Aang did.

Some people are speculating that Amon was faking it. The lack of glowing energy would support that.

Well as a chi blocker, he might have found a way to permanently block a part of the body needed for bending. Like Gura Pathik told Aang he couldn't fully master bending until he unblocked all his chakras.

If he was energy bending though he would have been glowing and had to fight the same spirit battle Aang did.

Always possible but I doubt it. If he really didn't take their bending away permanently, he'd be revealed as a liar in no time. If he got the benders to play along with him onstage, we still have Bolin, a probender. He'd eventually have to bend again so Amon is caught.

I think it was legit, at least more so than I think his backstory is. Amon has done something to take away bending, I just don't know what. Energybending would have had the light show, or so we think. We've never seen energybending without it and Amon did restrain that guy in a way similar to how hang did it to Ozai. Perhaps it just wasn't show? Or perhaps the battle of wills was decided that quickly?

Most likely though it's just some chi blocking technique. Only time will tell.

Or: The light show was only visual from a viewer perspective, not a character one.

Thought about that, but unlikely. He'd have to pay/hire those benders to play along. And Bolin clearly wasn't acting. Still say he's somehow related to Avatar.

The fight scenes are epic in the show.

Well remember that Bolin wasn't meant to be there. They could have been playing the benders to take a fall, or Amon uses Ty Lee pressure point techniques to temperarily take away their bending and then just kills them afterwards.

You're right that its unlikely though.

If the Equalists had set the whole thing up from the beginning, they wouldn't have bothered taking Bolin in the first place. They just would have taken the people they paid off already.

So, apparently Zuko is still alive, but has not been the Fire-Lord for 3 years now. The Fire-Lord is his daughter.

Oh well, at least he hasn't died.

Wait, what? When was that said?

Aang died at the age of 66, which was 17 years ago. Zuko was 4 years older than Aang. His current age is given as 87, so he either died in the current year, or is still alive.

Also, Aang gets a Statue of Liberty sized statue, while Zuko gets a much smaller one, even though he was a founder like Aang. Meh.
