Character model choreography is better, because we're tightly focused in on the characters themselves, considering the villains this time around are all hand to hand guys. It makes for better martial arts but not strictly better fights. What made the bending so fun to watch was how creative they could get. Sure, martial arts has always been the basis but I prefer it being a more subtle touch than the main focus of the fighting.

Well yeah, it looks better, though for me it's because of the style difference rather than quality. But that doesn't strictly equal better fights, obviously. Better looking fights maybe but not better fights.

New guy needs to step off. That was way too unsubtle for a kids show.
Believe it or not, Mako was not at his worst in this episode. He had some good moments such as complementing his team, any scene with Asami had him showing some adorkableness, and he did say "sorry" which was more than I expected.
That said, he is still an ass and that doesn't change the fact that his problem in this episode basically amounts to which hot girl do I want to bang more? When he should obviously stick to Asami since going for Korra would hurt Bolin's and Asami's feelings while going with Asami would only hurt Korra, who has Bolin to make her feel better. There really shouldn't be a problem here lol.
Korra's actions made sense at least so I'm not as annoyed at her. Bolin is a saint lol. I'd have beaten the crap outta Mako if he just had to get two hawt girls instead of one. Freaking prick.

Twas a good ep IMO. Bolin and Korra were both awesome. There was pretty good humour, like the Team's first huddle, and Bolin's reaction to Korra & Mako making out. The Pro-bending action was pretty kewl as well and Korra got to one-up Mako's feat from ep2.
At least now we know for certain that Korra has more balls than Aang does.
Also, WTF, are Asami and Mako Eskimos or something? That was laem.

I was expecting her to go Avatar State in despair. Would have been awesome. :l
As for the episode, I feel like it was a tad rushed. Remember, this is only episode 5 and we're already getting to the love stuff. I mean...the first series took time with it but here it's just, BAM! 5 episodes in and the fan girls are already getting a Makorra moment of epic proportions.
