that is exactly what it means. Not sure why you brought up the turtle part... what difference does that make? Aang has the knowledge so all he has to do is pass it to Korra the same way the turtle did to him.relevance?
chi blocking is just hitting a bunch of points in the body that temporarily make your muscles go numb which keeps you from bending; it's like that move in Crouching Tiger or what Neji and Hinata do in Naruto.
Amon is clearly doing something completely different considering he doesn't even punch people for whatever his technique is to take effect.
under my assumption, it wouldn't be a lie.
I'm not speaking in absolutes.
Avatar's can pass knowledge between each other, but not necessarily skills and capabilities. Aang could tell Korra how to make a tornado, but because she can't airbend, she can't do it yet. And Aang had essentially mastered the Avatar State by the time he used the energy-bending.
The relevance in her not being able to airbend is me saying that just because she knows how to do it, doesn't mean she has the capability to do it. I can read how to do a flying spin kick on the internet, but that doesn't mean I can go outside and do it on a whim.
And chi blocking does what the name implies. It blocks your chi channels so you can't access your bending. Plenty of times it's been shown in both Last Airbender and Legend of Korra that chi blocked people can still move.
And while he's doing something different, he still showed the capability to take bending away on a seemingly permanently level.

Korra fearing Amon taking bending away makes no sense... has she not had a spiritual conversation with Aang yet? Surely Aang would tell her that her bending is safe.sidenote: Amon may be Tenzin's brother, Bumi. Tenzin definitely knows a lot more about Amon than he's letting on.
How would she do that when she lacks the ability to meditate? She hasn't been very spiritual, and we don't know if she has visited any places linked to the Avatar. I doubt she's even gone into the Avatar State yet, due to her sheltered life.
Also not sure how Aang would pass on Energybending to her, not if what the Lion-turtle used to teach Energybending to Aang, was Energybending itself.
I'm not saying it is impossible (as it can likely be retconned or brought about due to PIS), but Spirits cannot bend, and Aang would have to take control over Korra in order to perform any sort of bending.

Yeah, Aang was scared, no doubt. I will say that in my personal opinion though, I think his fear was of more than just Ozai.Ozai was on the offensive from the start and literally backed Aang into a corner. Once he trapped him, he realized that either
A) Ozai would kill him because he refused to fight back.
or
B) He would have to kill Ozai, betraying everything he'd been taught and believed in, and losing his sense of self in the process.
Until the AS kicked in, it was a lose-lose situation, and Aang saw it as hopeless.

In this regard, Amon is certainly a more formidable villain than Zuko, Zhao, Azula or Ozai.
If by formidable you mean scary lol. Ozai would probably still win in a fight. Zuko and Azula as well. 😛
But yeah, I like Amon more than Ozai at least. Ozai was strong and kinda scary but I never felt he was some unbeatable bender. And...I was right. Aang didn't need the Avatar State to beat him. He had him dead to rights the minute he caught the lightning. He was just too....nice?
But yeah, Amon has more of a plan and it's cool how secretive he is being about it.
Korra vs the Equalists Strategies.
That last one made me lol.
Yeah the best way to fight is to just make yourself invincible to their attacks. Pressure points don't work if they can't touch you. Rock Armor or Jellyfish should be Korra's default strategy against Equalists.
Though humans in Avatar are mildly superhuman so I wouldn't put it past Amon to be able to punch through rock.

I don't really see Amon's formidablity being a result of how strong he is, but due to how he presents his ability to take bending away. 😛
Meh, the only thing I liked about Ozai was his voice. Forget Aang. Zuko could have killed him if he wanted to. Ozai was strong but stupid.
But yes, he wasn't presented as an unbeatable bender, at least not in Book 3. Also, Aang was a pussy. Use the correct term.
That said, they should have at least given Ozai a different colou0red fire. I remember his official portrait showing Black fire awesome
Yep. Plus dat mask. awesome
Amon is better (and more terrifying) than Ozai because he has a huge following with seemingly no formal power to speak of... Ozai had a title and a legitimate army passed down to him.
Dunno about Zuko beating Ozai... he couldn't even (legitimately) defeat Azula, who by all accounts is well below Ozai.
Azula was able to humiliate Start-of-book-2 Zuko without using bending, relying solely on hand to hand probably because she trains with Ty Lee. Ozai never showed anything that suggests to me that he could have beaten Zuko with his bare hands when Zuko has swords on the Day of Black Sun. Azula probably could have though.
But Ozai would dominate Zuko is a straight fight. Without the eclipse no way in hell could Zuko kill Ozai.

I never said Zuko would beat Ozai in a straight fight. He'd get stomped, hard, as would Azula.
I was referring to Zuko redirecting Ozai's Lightning right after the Eclipse ended, leaving Ozai looking like a chump.
