Meant to post this up earlier, but as messed up as it was what Mako did; the supreme hate for him from some people is unwarranted imo.
He messed up; I'm not denying that. But he's a teenager dealing with an all out war dropping in his lap. He's allowed to be confused about his emotions. It happens all the time to normal teenagers and full grown adults with normal lives. And to his credit, he tried to make the relationship with Asami work. But after she found out about the kiss, she basically pushed him away for the rest of the season. And you can't help your true feelings. It turns out he really loved Korra; he can't control that. So cut the guy some slack.
And as for Lin's sacrifice losing weight, true, her getting her bending back didn't decrease the significance of losing it in the first place, I think she might be able to teach Korra and Bolin some new moves next season.
Yep. Mako is a teenager in the middle of a war. So are Korra, Bolin, and Asami. The girls by the way are dealing with far more on their plate(Asami having to deal with the fact that she'd need to fight her father and Korra having the responsibility of the Avatar). Both are acting more mature than Mako.
But I has question: Why does Mako love Korra? 🙂

Personlly I find the b*tching about the romance to be infinately more annoying than the romance itself.
No, what made her sacrifice lose wieght was that the Airbenders were captured anyway.
