No they aren't. Why do you think there was such a shit storm when people found out that it was Caucasians who were playing the main protagonists in the movie?

Because Katara and Sokka aren't Caucasian?

Katara and Sokka are Inuit(Eskimos) if anything.

Zuko wasn't Indian, he was East Asian.

Iroh isn't Iranian.

Admiral Zhao isn't the Indian guy from Daily Show.

Ozai isn't a Kiwi.

All Firebenders are clearly East Asian.

No one in Avatar is Caucasian, period.

Back to this show. Idk A couple of episodes I've seen are good but as a whole I can't really get into it. Maybe I need to really sit there and try but just never felt as magical to me as The Last Airbender

Obviously he ain't Indian, maybe he's east Asian, but looking at TLoK he looks white, lol

Aang? Toph? Suki? Bolin? (Mako may be Asian) Asami? etc?

Because no one is Caucasian. Art choice is the reason some of the characters have pale skin.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.

It's less 'adventurous' than the original series was, if that makes sense, and it is darker. With the possible exception of Bolin, no one in the main gang is as interesting or likeable as the ones in the original Team Avatar. IMO. Besides, on the whole, the quality just doesn't match up to that of the original's (Book 2 onwards).

That said, you need to watch the first Book for Amon. He is hands down the best villain in either series.

Aang seriously couldn't be whiter. Look at him in TLoK. He's white dude. No way around it.

Um Asami would like to have a word with you.

Pretty much agree. Granted I like Ozai for sheer awesome.

Yeah Asami>>>Bolin.

Though it's a bit of a shame we didn't get more of Ozai. Dude first officially appeared in the last season.

Bah, damn, forgot her.
Asami jumped Mako's bones right after Korra dumped his ass. [csm]313[csm]

Same here. Plus he's voiced by Mark Hamill.

Can you blame her? He's hot!

Re-watched some episodes.

It makes me mad how poor LOK is compared TLA. I'll keep watching in hopes it gets better with a second viewing.

That teen drama nonsense though, holy shit......

I guess they can afford to fully focus on Teen Drama since the world isn't on the brink of utter despair.

Weren't they fighting the equivalent of an evil god last season? That's pretty darn close to utter despair.

Though as I hear more about this season and the new characters introduced, I wonder exactly what huge crisis Lok is going to have that tops stopping Vaatu.

I'm also looking forward to an airbending antagonist and hilarious Jinora Christ moments.

I was assuming he was talking about the first season, as that's where the teen drama started. They only had Amon and the Equalizers threatening Republic City.

And by the time Vaatu happened, all the teen drama was mostly over, but it was rampant in the second season as well before things got over the top "OMG worlds gonna end".

That was also abundantly shown in TLA. Difference is they spread it out over dozens of episode rather than just a dozen.

By the way the show starts airing next week. Nick hates this show lol.

What do you mean?

As someone who doesn't watch ANY Nickelodeon programming besides LoK, I wouldn't have known the show was starting next week if Aura hadn't just mentioned it.

The network is not promoting the show.

Yeah, I think that's true. I think they had a problem with that with Book 2 as well.

So I'm finally getting around to watching Book 2, and it's almost comically bad. Comical in I can't believe how bad this is. It's badness is so bizarre and strange and unexpected considering this came from the same people who made TLA that I'm starting to wonder if Book 2 counts as postmodernism. Wtf?
