and no, Tnzin isn't dead; I don't think the Earth Queen is either.

Though, i wouldn't be all that surprised if either was true 'cause Bryke had the balls to murder-suicide Tarlok and Amon.

Tenzin's definitely alive. Probably near dead, or beat up pretty bad. But I do think the Earth Queen is dead. He sucked the air from her lungs and her eyes turned red, which is usually what happens with extreme asphyxiation. They could have just locked her in the dungeon if they didn't want to kill her.

Sure; but except for obvious deaths (like Amon and Tarlok), years of tv watching have made me skeptical about death until i see a body or get actual confirmation from another source that the person is dead. Even Mako saying "he took out the Earth Queen" leaves room for doubt.

but again, I wouldn't be surprised if they did actually kill her off. She was terrible anyhow, so it's not like she didn't deserve to die.

Pretty sure the Earth Queen's death was confirmed in this episode. If it is a fake out I'm going to be pissed. Tenzin should be alive, but if he isn't then Zaheer and friends would've ascended to being the best villains of both Korra and the Last Airbender.

Also I was kind of expecting Ming Hua to stomp Kya but I'm glad I got the fight shown on screen.

She definitely deserved it. And Zaheer made it pretty clear he was intent on killing her without actually saying it.

I do understand your skepticism though.

Aang would be ashamed of you two. >:[

Kya did everything she could to survive the fight, which is about what i expected from Katara's daughter.

As Katara and Aang were two of the best waterbenders in the world at one point. I thought she'd have been much more beast, like Tenzin but a Waterbender.

Kya spent most of her life being a hippy stoner. That she performed as well as she did is very impressive in that context.

Bumi too, considering he's still just a novice Airbender. I was hoping he'd open up a can of pugilist whoopass on Ghazan tbh.

You're right. I forgot she spent most of her life "Finding Herself"

Ghazan is like Amon-Lite. Just really Hax. I like him as a character though.

His little chat with Bolin was hilarious.

I'm pretty sure Bumi is a shitty fighter in general, despite his claims.

Bumi was probably a damn good fighter when he was younger, but you can tell by his bubble gut that once he started making progress in his career, he didn't have a need to fight.

Bolin can make any conversation awesome.

Bumi got his pot belly just after his retirement. He was in pretty good shape when he first appeared right after the defeat of the Equalists.

I'd totally forgotten about that. But even still, being in good shape doesn't make you a good fighter. He's been a general for a while, but we never saw him in active combat like Nu-Iroh.

Speaking of, where is he by the way? He could have helped a lot this season.

Man, Bumi was so much cooler in his first appearance.

Bumi was a commander, not a general. Commanders entered combat, they didn't have desk jobs. Think Commander Shepard.

Given his personality and character description, I sincerely doubt he wasn't on the front lines in a battle. We saw him try to physically fight a Spirit in Book 2.

Douche-president Raiko's prolly got Iroh's hands tied like he did in Book 2.

I hope Zaheer takes out Raiko, TBH. I hate him.
