Indeed he is.I was worried after his troubled and lengthy production of The Fountain, but he's come back strong with two outstanding films since then. I'm happy he found his footing and realized his potential.
Blasphemy. The Fountain is my favorite of his films. Amazing visuals and wonderfully moving. Pi is awesome also. Requiem for a Dream is good, but it's hard to watch, heh.. not the most pleasant of films. And I felt kind of the same about The Wrestler. It was good, but the end didn't leave me warm 'n fuzzy inside.. just kind of dull and indifferent. Needed a more potent ending, I think, but Mickey Rourke was really good in it.
Black Swan was excellent also. Never thought a movie about ballerinas could be so eerie..
