World Manipulator Tournament OOC

In what sense?

Usually when someone has "powers" or "abilities" or whatnot, they usually have some sort of theme.

I have a hero that has

Super Speed
Teleportation
Elemental Powers
Shadow Control

How does this make sense?

is that supposedly directed at me? If so you could have just said it instead of trying to make a backhanded remark.

Super speed would be a new one

and not every power has a theme. Take superman...flying, super strength, x ray vision, laser beam, and freeze breath. Explain to me a theme...there are fighters that do have a theme like spiderman or ironman

A little variation never hurt anyone.
Please refrain from flying off the handle. 😬

Who me. Im not flying off the handle, i just think his post didnt make much sense..

It's supposed to be a good example, which it is.

The powers has no real relevance each to eachother. Speed and teleportation work, since both are a matter of "Time x Space x Distance" within the realm of physics, of logic, reality.

The elements (A power involving all of them) is a "natural resource", falling into the arts of druidism, shamanism or any other praising of nature. It is a power commonly used by tranquil, peaceful or caring entities. Entities embraced by mother nature, and the balance of the world.

Shadow control is something of an eldritch category (Malevolent users), falling into the realm of spirituality and of religion. Shadow and light, or holy and unholy are arts often held by characters that worship a particular sector of faith. Shadow and elements in a common sense become contradictory to eachother and doesn't co-exist in the sense that speed and teleportation would.

Speed and teleportation are physical feats of strength, while elemental and shadow control are psychic feats of mentality.

So what Quincy is trying to say is that you have a 3-way crash (Speed and Teleport - Elementalist - Shadow mastery.) Although I don't think he's talking to you alone, since this apply to several. As he used this as an example however, so will I.

I meant nothing by this, mind you. You asked, so you can't get mad at me for being straight with you.

i thought it would be cool but i guess not :'(

No it's fine - Just takes me back to the good old days. 😛

While not giving Superman a case, Superman is not human. He's Kryptonian, and this makes his powers of Kryptonian theme. Humans are without superpowers, and if they are born into them, many expect these powers to make sense.

If someone is mutated into his power, it's expected that it makes even more sense. My point is that the closer to human nature someone is, the more sense someones powers should make. While Superman look, walk and talk like a human, he's in fact very alien and his powers are in a way excused (Not saying that they are, only that in an alien sense they could be)

The point of all this, and the root of the discussion, is that it doesn't make sense for someone to have superspeed and the ability to generate water. From where I'm standing, a human character should have one power or several of absolute relevance to one another.

If a character has more than one category of power (As previously brought up; Physics, Mother Earth, Religion), it would be through some zero chance twist of luck, the discovery of the worlds smallest pin in the worlds largest haystack. This is because humans aren't supernatural in nature, and one being so is not natural. If someone is unnatural on unnatural (Meaning that what happens once every hundred millionth life happens again) and has two powers without relevance to eachother, that makes him a logical mathematics anomaly (0.000xxx% chance of being). On this a third power is added without relevance to the others and the chance of existing for this being is beyond reasonable calculations.

What I'm saying is, and hopefully what Quincy is saying as well: Someone with powers unrelated to eachother is silly and merely the quenching of a thirst to put all the powers you want into a character (Disregarding the idea of putting thought behind it).

I myself do not like Superman, because of his powers. For this reason there are also many characters here on KMC I do not like. People does not think their characters through, they just make them.

"Oh, this power would be cool. And good in fights too. And this one. And this one. And this one. I will be needing this one if things get tight and I need to escape. This power will help me in case my enemy is more powerful than me. If my enemy is smarter than me, I'll need this power so that his intelligence only take him so far"

While I think:
"Superspeed would be fun. So would telekinesis. But wait, if I pick superspeed, what logic is there in having telekinesis? Telekinetic is a mental attribute, while speed is physical. I'll just skip that one and create a telekinetic in the future. Superspeed it is"

I would contest that point of view if I didn't suffer from its topic. I will, however, excuse myself because the more absurd of my character's development did not come from my own actions, but from another's. 😛

🙁 I don't think you or anyone can get threw to him. He'll somehow see it as a personal attack and get angry at you, and everyone else.

😂 I know your talking about Godot, but Edgeworth is in it, and he's my fav character in the series period.
Godot's a close 2nd though 😉
That said I should remake the "Top ten AA Characters" video, since I made it before playing AJ and AAI 😛
