Resident Evil 6

Yeah, I actually think Resident Evil 5 was pretty good in its own right. The failure of co-op is a bit overblown honestly.

Outbreak had co-op and I think that game was done well. I'd like to see a modern take on that, personally.

Same here. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if those said people were mostly why Capcom decided to even have a remake of Code Veronica, and another remake of RE4, so that all the people whose first game was RE5 would get a better chance to play a couple of the good previous titles in the series (one of which was a gem from the last generation), before coming out with RE6.

That is a definite possibility.

The biggest problem RE5 had was that it came after RE4, imo. They had to follow up what many people believed was the best in the series.

Co-op wasn't THAT bad, imo. Making the game more about action than horror was a bigger issue for me. A proper horror RE with co-op would be great I think.

Is it really possible to have a "scary" or at least creepy co-op game?

"Creepy" differs from person to person obviously, but I think it is possible; I believe Outbreak achieved it honestly.

I haven't played the Obscure series yet, but I heard it attempted something similar. It's not a Resident Evil game though.

YouTube video

Trailer.

I was hoping negative fan response from RE5 would encourage Capcom to take RE back to it's survival roots, not to push it farther into what nobody liked and turn it into SOCOM with Zombies. Oh well... start waiting for Dead Space 3 I guess.

Push it farther into what nobody liked? The sales clearly say otherwise, sir. Also, there's a separate thread for that game.

I didn't say nobody liked the game, I said they are pushing the next game into the one aspect of RE5 people liked the least. Other than co-op, RE5 played like RE4, which everyone loved, one bad aspect isn't enough to ruin a game and kill it's sales...

That said, it's not like sales an indication of quality or enjoyment anyway. See Homefront.

Sales =/= overall enjoyment of a game IMO. Frankly I wish they forgot about co-op and all the action oriented crap. I miss my RE/2 frights =\

This looks so game.

resident evil definitely needs to go back to its roots.

See Left 4 Dead.

With all of the What-If games going on (Operation Raccoon City, Off the Record, etc.), how's about Capcom does another for RE5? I'd like to see Capcom remaking that garbage they dumped in 2009 into what they were planning to make it into before they thought bad ideas were good.

Left 4 Dead wasn't even a tiny bit scary to me, lol.

Yeah I think Valve's even said it's supposed to be funny...

DISCLOSE. uhuh

Please.

Well, okay... Don't get mad at me if these end up not being true though. 😛

. RE6 Will star Leon and Jill as the two main protagonists and take place in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
. RE Revelations plays a huge role in the game’s story, as well as the evil Organization from the game, Veltro.
. Ada Wong, from the organization, will play a major role.
. Camera angles will use a new cinematic style reminiscent of the old games. Angled but more cinematic.
. Improved control scheme.
. The game is aiming to be the scariest and most gruesome Resident Evil ever.

Originally wanted to wait 'till they were further touched on by a source or proven true before posting them, but yeah.

Do you have a link for these rumors?

I'd be disappointed if the control schematic reverted to the frozen angle/tank controls of yesteryear.

Beats the crap out of the one used RE4 and RE5.
