Hero High 3: A New World

Jade blushes at the thought of being paid back by Ricardo. She gave him the money out of kindness and surely she had enough to make up for it after working for so long. Why was he being so kind? She was a bit confused but nodded for a moment, not wanting to challenge someone else's kind sentiment as she would not want done to her. She accepted it but then slid herself into the seat, looking toward Ricardo. Jade had thought over how to say her next words shorter than usual and responded to him, "My own studies? Oh, hehehe don't worry about it. I'm done with all my homework and I'm pretty good at studying. I might be able to help." Jade wondered if Ricardo being a student in such advanced classes would mean that he had more of a challenge with them then she did. With her few advanced classes it seemed to be a breeze to her; though this was more a depressing thought as she desires a challenge. She awaits an answer now from Ricardo, curious if he wishes to use her for help.

Ricardo nodded his head, listening on to everything Jade was saying as he proceeds to turn his head to the monitor, studying the difficulty of each question and turns back to Jade. "Well in that case...fine. I'll let you stay and help." Ricardo said confidently with a nod and a light smile. "Although, I am currently working on my Tactical combat assignment. It's just a little quiz I have to finish. The questions are all difficult, trivial, and pretty interesting. And i'm beginning with the easy stuff." Ricardo said that last sentence with a tauntingly and playful tone, with a weak expression. He turns to his monitor. "But uh....Well...." Ricardo tried to explain his need for help, as this was all too unfamiliar and odd to him that he is actually asking for help on an assignment. He shook his head and lets it out. "You can help me with my...Alter physics and element assignments." Ricardo said with a guilty tone and look, not giving her any eye contact. He began playing with his fingers.

Though Jade was nervous and shy, her scarf hid her expression. She feels a bit curious as to Ricardo's emotions for his guilty tone. Jade places her right hand over his arm though not quite touching it, but to let him know that she is there. "If it troubles you, then don't worry about it" she says with a calming tone to attempt to help him in feeling better. She seems to make a smiling happy expression with her eyes closed and tilting her head. She then proceeds to wait for his response or his request for help while enjoying being in his company.

Ricardo rises and eyebrow once he felt a hand being placed over her arm. He turns to Jade with confusion, which turned into total comfort as he nodded to her words. His face gave a light expression which meant total acknowledgement. Ricardo usually has empty feelings for people who try to do such a thing but he felt that this was totally different. Especially if one was enjoying being in company with him, and at the same time insisting on helping him with work. Even though Ricardo has recently met her the other day, he felt as if he knew her for awhile. He did not know why he felt like that...Could it have anything to do with the materialistic imbalances affecting his powers. He turned away to his computer, places his hand on the mouse and moves the pointer in the operating system over the pause button to his music library and pauses his Modest Mouse. He frowned a bit, but he felt it was most respectful to do so with company. People probably don't really have the same taste as him, so it was best to respect that.

Jade was happy at the feeling that Ricardo appeared to be comfortable with her. This was the first time in years that anyone had showed even a remote sign of comfort with her. With a question of remote silence, she looks at him curiously for a moment. Why did he turn off his music? Jade respects other's spaces to a degree in which she feels that nobody should change for anyone else with the added benefit that she does enjoy the band's music. "You don't have to turn it off, I like some of their songs" Jade states to Ricardo. She moves back away from him to give him his space again and sits in the chair more so, placing her hands just lightly over her legs. She listens to him but thinks clearly at the same time to give an equal thought processing of each event that had occurred. She remains silent to allow him to do his work.

"Oh!....Umm...Ok" Ricardo said with an excited tone. He turned back and continued the song "World at large" as he turns back to his messenger bag while nodding his head to the song, digging in for his textbook. He places it on the desk in front of her as he rolls his chair closer to her and opens to the first chapter. "I concentrate a bit better when music is playing. I didn't want to be rude." Ricardo said considerately and honestly. Ricardo awaited for Jade to respond while he looked for the page to the chapter question as he brushed the ends of his bangs aside and then rests his head onto that same hand.

Jade makes a faint laughter after Ricardo comments on not wanting to be rude. Of course Jade thinks in her own mind to make someone change what they are doing just for someone else would be rude. For this reason, she realizes that they are both trying to avoid being rude to the other. She nods to Ricardo to acknowledge his ideals for listening to music while he studies. She does not usually have this luxury as she tends to finish most of her work in the classroom in only the short time done. This is because although she could never develop her abilities in the other school she further developed her mind and was able to extend it to a point that every thought process that moved through it took little then a few seconds. As the work was assigned her mind had already established and answer for more than half the questions though she would have to keep this up if she wanted to free her schedule for the purpose of discovering more of the mystery within the school. She stares at Ricardo for a few moments and then begins to think about her own appearance. She always wears a scarf while she plays it off to be that she is shy it is because she had been built up with such a low self esteem that she tends to hide her face in fear that people will insult her for being of not adequate appearance. She lets out a light sigh and finally returns to her previous thoughts, wondering what Ricardo must think of her. Jade does not intrude inside of Ricardo's mind as she feels that privacy is the only thing that keeps people sane, that if people knew all about them they would no longer feel safe. For this reason; she does not attempt to read thoughts inside of his mind but instead keeps to herself.

Ricardo spent the entire hour, asking Jade about these basic questions of elemental relevance between the human and the source. Though, Ricardo knew the answers to some of these questions, he asked anyways. He was pretty bored and felt like extending this further into a longer duration of her being here and helping him. He liked the company but did not want to show this but would rather just act as if he really needed the help out of pure struggle. At every question, he was sure to have received a thorough explanation to every question by Jade. Although, he was beginning to become sleepy. He knew that the empathy that Jade possessed will get her to figure this out. Although, Ricardo began to wonder to himself why he loved sleeping so much...He felt like lying on his bed and just using the whole day to sleep. After the explanation and answer to the last question, Ricardo turns to Jade and looks into her eyes with a smile "Wow, You're so smart. Thanks..." He stretches on his chair and then gets up, seeing that time has gone by so quickly. "Wow, is it just 8:30 PM?" Ricardo said with a confused tone.

Gaku was happy when Kaida said partial dragon form that came natural to him but turning full was a future goal for him. "Partial Dragon ]thats my specialty... It's also the most dragon i can go right now. Well I can do partial dragon of every part of my body if you want i could help, Anything for a friend." Gaku smiled at Kaida happy to help if she needed it he was a nice person at heart but can be a total a$$hole too.

Kaida smiles "please?"

Jade blushes from the comment stated by Ricardo of her being smart. She has been called smart before by others though it was mostly out of mockery in order to make her feel worse. It was different this time as it felt more sincere. She smiled and tilted her head again a bit, though she quickly regained calmness. Her own body feels a sliver of exhaustion and she looks at Ricardo. "You're tired, would you like me to leave?" she asks him with an interested tone.

Ricardo tilted his head at Jade's question "Actually, I was about to ask you if you wanted anything." Ricardo paused for a bit as he moved his hands behind his back, cuffing them together. "And...I also wanted to know if you wanted to go do something. I don't know...walk around...Whatever you want." Ricardo didn't really have many friends to hang out with and he was pretty bored. He had no class tomorrow so he didn't mind how late he would stay. He began to wonder why he did not sense Donny anywhere all day. He shook off the thoughts and awaited for a response from Jade.

Jades eyes widen for a moment and she looks away from Ricardo, not in shame but embarrassment. Though some of her face is covered it is still very clear of her red tinted face from her blushing. She thought over her thoughts to herself. She questioned every word said, though not in fear of what had happened but curiosity at it all. Was he asking her on a date? No.. she banished that thought from her mind. She contemplated the thought of what they would be doing. Walking was interesting and she definitely would enjoy it. She finally settled it in her own mind and turned around then nodded. "Only if you want to, I don't want to keep you awake if you are tired." She awaited a response to her own statement. Her face now having calmed from the embarrassment.

An interest began to grow out of Jade. He smirked and answered to the question he felt was so considerate and stable. "I was actually just tired for staying seated for a long time doing something I don't really like doing. But you pretty much put me in the mood to go do something. I'm asking because well...I don't really know anyone and i'm pretty tired of going alone like usual and roaming like some weirdo. And I also like to talk to you some more." Ricardo said out loud confidently and thoroughly without stuttering. He was aware of what he said...But Ricardo was a pretty risky individual. He said and did things, without worrying of the consequences, feeling that he can make up for the negative outcomes. He continued standing there, studying her expression to every word he made. Ricardo did not need to use empathy nor any special kind of psionic reading to see that this girl found an interest in him. By the way she just came into his room to help him...a reason to get to be with him. Ricardo thought it was pretty cute when girls react in such a way. Hence why he wanted to get to know her.

Jade smiled for a second as could be seen with the expression that her face usually makes. She leans a bit forward and uses the force to lift her own body into a standing position and turns to the door. She stops and spins around lightly to look back toward him, holding her hands behind her waist and leaning back to the wall. "Oh, so you just want to spend time with me because you're bored?" she laughs with a playful expression to it, wondering how he would come back to such a comment. She was wondering what was going through his mind at teh moment and for what reason he wanted to be nice to her... did he know more than he should? Could it have been general kindness? Jade didn't bother to learn more on the matter but instead had made a seemingly baited motion to suggest that they should go for a walk. "If you don't want to go, I suppose I'll still walk. But you are of course welcome to accompany me."

At first, Ricardo thought this would be the last time he would ever see Jade ever again once she stood up and walked away, as she rejected the offer to take a walk with him. That bummed and confused look turned into a light, relieved smile once she made that remark that made Ricardo chuckle and think at the same time, already wanting to punch himself for saying that part. Ricardo followed her path out of the room as he turned everything off and followed her out. He closes the door, locks it under the encrypted combination and turns to Jade. "I was thinking of just taking a walk around the school. I usually do that at the end of the day. Want to do that?" Ricardo with simplicity. He did not see a reason to be trivial and complicated at the moment. He felt like he can be himself at the moment. He confidently pulls down her scarf a bit under her chin with his index finger. "And lighten up a little. Could barely see all of you." he said with a warm chuckle and expression, wanting to see the way she would react.

again today Jade's eyes swiftly widen with Ricardo moving to her scarf though in a reaction she quickly evades and steps back, holding her hands over it, gripping the clothe tightly in her hands to keep it in place in fear of him having seen her more. She is also embarrassed now because of this and her mind begins to racing in an attempt to think of something to say, though it seems to run blank. Jade feels a bit nervous and embarrassed now and falls back figuratively into a back up plan. "Um.. I-I have to study for a test that is coming up, so we'll talk later okay." embarrassed and fearful of what had happened, Jade turns and runs down the hallway, disappearing from sight when heading to her room. She arrives at her room and falls to her knees, breathing heavy for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts. She opens the door, slipping into her room and shutting it. A seal appears over the door as it closes. Jade lays down and curls up, realizing what had just happened.

Ricardo adapted himself to the whole reaction that he did not expect. He not only noticed the obvious lie of her having to study for a test (since she stated earlier that she finished all her assignments and breezed through them), but as well as the way she reacted when he touched her scarf. It was all too obvious that she was hiding something beneath that scarf. Not only did the fact that she could have been scarred get to Ricardo into total regret, but he felt like a total douche for being inconsiderate and being to comfortable with his actions. He placed himself under pure though of how he is. He began questioning himself now. Why would he do such a thing? Ricardo kept himself from feeling any worse and tries to dismiss these thoughts, but he now began to feel bad for Jade. He has never felt so bad for an individual all his life. He could imagine the pain she has went through all her life with whatever she is hiding there. He did not want to question it...As ricardo thought he was being polite and comforting, he ended up scarring off one of the only people he knew. He could imagine how awkward things will be from this point onward. He shook his head walked towards the direction she went, trying to think if he should stop by her dorm or if he should just leave it alone and save this all for another day. Point of all this was to at least get her to understand that he was not like anyone else...Ricardo wants to show her that he is not so shallow and would rather except her, for her own sake of self esteem. He began to wonder he felt no energy in her at all...but to every word Ricardo said, he noticed that she would react with high tensions.

He was not going to give up on her...she helped him and felt it would not be polite to not thank her correctly. He continued walking down the hall, as he got closer.

Inside of her room Jade stands in front of a mirror. She stares into it, though something is different. Her scarf is pulled down no rather than around her face to cover half of it, it now rests just barely over her neck. Her face is exposed but to only herself. Her skin even beneath it remains soft, her lips are parted in a nervous partial tone. She has her right hand up near her face with two fingers just gently touching her cheek. Upon her cheek is a mark, seemingly a scar. Though this is not a typical one. As she touches it, the scar burns a very bright red, giving off a very distinct burning sensation through her entire body which makes her flinch and immediately pull her hand back. The scar is shaped with 3 direct marks as if a knife had cut a tri marking across it though this is not direct. The scar was very noticeable and when her hand was not near it only it could be seen. Her beauty could be seen from one side, her left. Though on the right side, the scar exists just over her cheek. Could Ricardo have known about this sign? Was he fully aware of her situation and trying to exploit it? She felt fear that there was a danger in him being near unless she intruded within his mind to be aware of his intentions. Perhaps it is the unknown feeling between them that made her so uneasy. She would not read his mind and he could not read hers. Because of this, she was all too aware how easy it could be that one was lying to the other.

Jade pulls her scarf up and wraps it over her face again just below her eyes, keeping her scar hidden without doubt. She could simply put a patch over it to cover it up but this would be too obvious that something was wrong in that area. She had to keep it a secret. With all this thought, she had completely neglected the thought of beings nearby. Her mind branched out, sensing for all those nearby and through out the building, mapping it out once more.

Ricardo walked by a few students on his way to Jade's dorm. The one he has once appointed her to. He nodded his head to a few familiar classmates from a couple of his classes before catching sight of the targeted door. He slowly approaches the door and stood in front of it, sensing Jade within the room. He let out a sigh and found his hand going for the door and knocking on it. He did this without hesitation. He knocked the door three times before pausing and awaiting a response. He knew she was in their. Now it all a matter if she would even acknowledge him or not. If she chose to not open, he would have to speak to her through the door like a child. He did not mind, but he hoped it did not come to that.

Jade falls back against the door with her back to it, almost as if laying against it. With her fall against it a thump is heard. She lightly speaks though loud enough to be heard through the door, "Who is it..?" though she already knows who it is. She is nervous now and embarrassed, scared to talk to him face to face now in fear of what he might say or think about her.
