Sam didn't know what to think, that explosion was a big one how could anyone survive that. With out saying anything Sam teleported leaving a poof of shadows behind her, she appeared again near the crater that was made. "Is it even possible that they could survive something like this?" she asked herself staring down into the rubble.
Sam started to feel a panic wash over her, shadows shifted over her as her emotions begin to take over, "Leon! Laim!" she yelled picking up large pieces of the building with her powers. She hoped ever time she picked rubble up they would be there under a shield or something but every time they were not there she lost a little more hope.
Leading Uriah and Star to where the building once stood, Naomi's heart sank. It was reduced to nothing more than a crater of rubble. However, she remembered that they were deep under ground. She wondered if the crater was that deep. She saw Sam down there, black ribbons tossing debris everywhere.
"Come on," she said to Star and a wide-eyed Uriah. She slid down into the crater and began to dig. She didn't know what she was hoping to find. She just hoped she'd find something.
"Not to take away from you guys, but that Ghost guy said that we should be helping people in need."
"Liam and Leon ARE in need," Uriah said as he slid into the crater as well.
"But what do you guys honestly expect to find down there? Four people digging through a pile of exploded building rubble isn't going to garner any results. We'd be digging the whole day before we could even hope to find something. And how many people would die because we didn't help them."
As much as Uriah didn't want to admit it, Star was right. Naomi only knew how big this building was and the crater was pretty big. If Liam and Leon were still in there when something blasted it, they were buried deep.
Just then he remembered the psychic link. *LIAM!!! LEON!!! Can you guys here me?!* Silence. *LIAM! LEON!*
Nothing. His heart sank. What does a silent mind-link mean? He stopped digging. *Janet,* he thought. *Are you guys still coming? We really need you. I can't hear Liam and Leon with the mind-link. And there was this explosion. And we're digging and we can't find anything.*
*Calm down, Uriah. We're about to leave now. We'll be there in 45 minutes .* Janet was broadcasting to just Uriah and his group. She didn't want to alarm anyone else.
Sam wanted to strangle Star just to shut her up so she could continue digging but when see heard Uriah call out for them with the mind link, she stayed still and very quite waiting for them to reply but when only silence returned she felt like she was going to be sick.
"Who cares about those people, we did all we could for them we can't save them all," Sam said in a very low voice. "Most their lives are meaningless anyways. It would be better to say two guys that actually matter then save one hundred that don't make a difference."
“Excuse me? Come on girl wouldn’t even sound right coming from my lips. Your friends knew the risk and if it was you under there I’m sure they’d be just as hurt but during this time we need to save these people. Hero or not they breathe the same air we do and most of them have important lives. I’m going to do as I asked. Now if you want to explain to some little child why their parents are dead I’ll leave that up to you.” Star turned around to walk away and stopped just in hearing distance of Sam. “I might be a villain at this moment but I was once one of you. This is apart of the job. Everything about being a hero states put yourself last for the greater good. Why do you think your leader wouldn’t let any of you go? He knew something like this might happen and I’d take it he loved you and your friends so much that he wasn’t willing to be selfish like you are now. Just think about it Sam.”
Wraith held his hand up in front of his face. “It’s happening. Let’s hurry up and help these brats before this body starves to death.”
“What do you mean?” Ashlocke asked with a worried expression on his face.
“ Look around you. Bodies are all over the place but no one is dreaming. No one is awake to fear; which means I’m going to start to grow weaker by the hour and I bet Ghost knew this already. That’s why he didn’t send us with the little scary one.”
As Andrew, Blayze and Tech got on the jet, Simon was relieved. He didn't know if they were going to come or not. But when he saw Rock, a confused expression crossed his face. And then came Lance. Simon quickly looked at Janet only to see her focused on prepping the jet.
When he looked back at Lance, Simon saw that he was in his seat appearing to have a deep conversation with Blayze. He saw Andrew shrug his shoulders and hoped that this flight would be quick. There was so much unresolved issues between Janet and Lance that a very emotional blow up seemed inevitable.

Uriah sighed. Star was right, again. The fate of many were more important than the fate of two. "She's right, Sam. We have a duty to perform." He was walking back out the crater with his shoulders slumped. That was all he would say because he knew Sam understood.
Even Naomi began to climb out. She had tears running down her face, but a determined look in her eyes. "Liam and Leon would ask us to save as many people as possible."
"And Ghost sent us this way to look for any survivors," Uriah added in a defeated voice. "I don't think we're gonna find any down there."
"Come on, Sam," Naomi said. "We've gotta job to do."

"Are you two gonna whisper like school girls the whole mission," Caleb asked of Wraith and Ashlocke as he was carrying a person on each of his shoulders. He encased himself in an invisible suit of armor to give him an extra boost of strength. He saw Medusa using he super long and super strong, prehensile hair to carry 5 people at a time.
They had set up camp in a park that wasn't that far from the base. Ghost and his team were dropping people off via mirror transportation, courtesy of Pintar and Hitosu had decided to stay with Caleb and the others to heal all who needed it but to also stay away from his stepbrother, Pintar. He had to constantly consume the team's energy bars so he could use his powers lest he would pass out.
It was a whole other matter when everyone started finding bodies. Before Tracy found the first deceased, DJ and Energía had informed Ghost's group that everyone was alive. However, that was almost a half hour ago. No one, not even the villains, wanted to think that they had a time limit. But thatss what it seemed like and that's what Energía reported.
The previously infected people's body had begun to shut down. Four people were already dead and apparently more were dying. Ghost told DJ to get in contact with Tech and Blayze and fill them. When he did that, the duo said they brought enough equipment to set up a makeshift lab and were going to be there in fifteen minutes.
This day was turning out to be worst than what anyone thought.
Janet eyes shifted over toward Lance and Rock. It was clear she was semi annoyed by Lance’s sheer presence. “Hello Rock. It’s good to see you back…. Lance” Without waiting for a reply she turned around to focus on the situation in New York. The amount of people slowly dieing was giving her a psychic headache. “Can this thing go any faster? I’m feeling a lot of minds slowly slipping into darkness. So many I can barely keep up a telepathic defense.”
Wraith rolled his eyes at Caleb. At the news of the victims slowly dieing he knew what he needed to do. He’d be fine in the end but even the cruelest of villains could have a heart. “ I’m going to help you and your friends one last boy. Don’t do anything foolish and everything will be fine.” Wraith knelt down placing two children down on the ground and stood back up taking a step back. His cloak wrapped around his body tightly as he screamed in pain. Moments later his cape reopened reveling a portal to the hunting grounds. A few of his generals step out awaiting his command. “ You are to go through out the city and bring any an all beings to this place. Do not attack anyone or thing or I’ll have your souls. Once you are finished you are to return back to the hunting grounds without delay or I will personally punish each and every last one of you. Now GO!!”
Wraith lifted his head toward Caleb with a faint smile. He had used the last bit of his host body’s energy. “Don’t fail these people Caleb.” Without another word a strem of purple smoke came from the ground a vanished leaving a skeleton standing where Wraith once stood. A few seconds later the skeleton turned into a pillar of fire then into a pile of ash.
Star looked back toward the heroes. She felt sorry for them. She knew nothing she could say would have made them feel better about any of these. Even though Leon and Liam were are enemies she also felt the pain the young heroes were feeling. It reminder her of when her older brother Redeye was killed in front of her and Nova Gamma when they were sidekicks to the worlds old hero team. “Time heals all wounds. Don’t allow their blood to be in vain.” She whispered.
"We're almost there," Andrew replied to Janet. "ETA is 5 minutes. And remember team; some of our enemies are helping out. Most notably Wraith, Ashlocke and Pintar. You are not to engage them. The Ghost Squadron is also on the scene. There very well may be other supers out there helping so keep your eyes open for them, too. This thing has turned into a search and rescue. When we land, DJ and Energía will give us a full briefing."

Caleb had to admit that little self-sacrifice of Wraith surprised him. He knew the Dream lord would eventually take another host, but it was still surprising that he used the last of his energy to bring 4 others to help. They raced off as soon as they had their orders. Things had begun to mover quicker.
Ashlocke wasn't fazed. He kept moving people in silence. He couldn't wait for this to be over.

"That's because you didn't destroy anything," Andrew quickly replied as he turned away from the controls. "And you were detained when you did try. It is not our place or style to hold anyone under arrest. Regardless of what they attempted to do. We can only do what we feel is best for the students.
"I can't say what Ben is going to do if you want to come back to the school. And I don't know how Strike Force will feel. But I do know that you wont be causing trouble anymore. You have Lance, if he should so decide to stay. And no one is going to let you try to destroy anything again. I can promise you that.
"Now, Lance. I, too would like to hear about what you were up to in your absence."
Andrew was getting annoyed with Rock. To be perfectly honest, he didn't like to deal with her as much. "If memory serves me, it was you who opted to go to an asylum. Ben wanted you to stay at the school- against some of our wishes, might I add- and get treated there. But youvsaid that if Lance wasn't there, you didn't want to be either. So, no. It's not our style to send people off to asylums. You made a choice and we honored it."
Rock silent looking at lance, she doesnt press the matter. She nods once "right" she says simply, going silent about her time locked up. She long since decided she would kill that government agent if she ever got the chance. She forms it into knives of various shapes, she forms the metal into statues, practicing control over the details. She makes a small vicious looking wolf with detailed fur and all.
