Well, to some degree there's ignorance and fear involved of course. But I will actually disagree, I believe to the reasonable parts of western society it is the same thing. However, we should differentiate at what fundamentalist Muslims call islamophobia and what actually is. Things that are bad when done to Jews are of course also bad when done to Muslims, but we have to admit that there are certain aggressive elements within Islam that are very much contrary to western beliefs, pointing them out or shunning them can not be considered islamophobia as it is the actual believe that is targeted (just as with say white supremacists) rather than the belonging to a group.

Probably because they are both backward relgions, where lots of followers are still living in the iron age frame of mind.
Just look at what insane things these followers do, excluding the eagerness to violence because "God" is on their side.

Well those two can't be really compared. Semites belong to particular group of peoples, Israelites and Arabs share this group. Anti-Arab sentiment is Anti-Semitism, so the better question is, why isn't the anti-Arab sentiment called Anti-Semitism.
Islamophobia just does not fit this category - it is (presumably) a hatred or fear of a religion. I could hate and fear Christianity (and many people do) but noone would call me Christophobic or equate it to anti-Semitism or racism. If I was to go on a Christian killing spree however...

We're at war with radical Islam. Not so much with radical Judaism. Though the only radical jew I know of is Mrs Brofloski....

Cause right now at this time, that is the main focus that the muslims are the terrorists. and that is all the people and media care about.
I know different it's just the redneck idot muslims that are the problem. i know a few muslims in malaysia that went to a catholic school and they didn't care, they just have their religion and follow it as best they can, same would go for a catholic or what ever. but it's the extremists that give the regular ones a bad name. and the terrorist use this and say the west is attacking the muslim way of life! but they are not they are just attacking some terrorist that happen to be muslim (extremists)
