Re: Anti-Semitism & Islamophobia

Why the double standard?
Essentially, because today jews are viewed as westerners and muslims are seen as the 'other'. Plus, the holocaust is still too fresh in everyone's memories for the good ole anti-semitism to return as it was - calling them foreigners in their birth countries. I don't think the acceptance of islamophobia is as prevalent as you believe though.
The hostility to islam that does occur, mostly stems from phobia of migration in Europe and moronic reactions to the WTC attacks in the USA. In Latin America, islam is mostly ignored or treated as a matter of curiosity, aversion to it is pratically inexistant.
Uh, yeah, it's still a problem. As for your ignorant comment of "radical Judaism" and attacks in the US, I can name one attack planned by Kahanists that was successfully foiled. They pull off a lot of shit in Israel, most of it unsuccessful but their threat in the US is non-existent. The common profile of a terrorist in America is white, chrisitan, bald, and wearing red-laced Doc Martens.

Maybe but they get use to it after awhile.
And that makes it okay?

Er in the 1970s the JDL blew up like a dozen buildings. The FBI considers them a legitimate terrorist threat even to this day.

People bad mouth and againist people who are Chiristian more then just the jews and I let it side.
That's quite different though. It's not a bigoted hate of Christians that most people have. Additionally Christians happen to be the majority.
If it happens as some sort of "racist" hatred against Christians then that is just as bad, however the effects are usually not nearly as severe.
FFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
I actually just deleted the bookmark....
here is a news report:
and the FBI document... it might be worth reading sometime, I have no idea what they are qualifying as terrorism

Yeah I agree. Vandalism is a more adequate definition for most of the incidents they called 'terrorist attacks'. I personally cannot lump the deliberate destruction of property toghether with the deliberate killing of innocent people
Edit: I think this treatment of any politically motivated ilegal action as terrorism is more of a political use of a buzzword than anything else.
