STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION - Desecration

"Hmm, fun. Think that you'll avoid that fate?"

"Well, I must be slightly mad already for being willing to take you there, so...probably can't get much worse."

"It can always get worse..." Rianna says, having joined you at some point in the conversation. "And I have a bad feeling about this."

Does Galder share that feeling?

You feel...that something is off. You don't know what, but you definitely feel that there's something wrong.

Galder shakes his head.

"I can't pin it, but you're right," Galder says. "But it doesn't matter."

"I think it may matter very much..." Rianna mutters. "And even if we do find anything there...do you really think we should bring it back to Rand?"

"No, but I wouldn't mind having it," Galder says. "My Master always strove for artifacts like this one."

"If it exists. I think it might be better being destroyed if we find it. I don't trust Rand with any item that could contain any power."

"I'll let you destroy it if it turns out to be useless," Galder says. "Otherwise, that's really dumb. I'm sick of the 'I fear Rand' crap. Be helpful and get over it."

"Fine. We'll do it your way and bring whatever we find back with us, then," Rianna snaps angrily at you.

"Hey, come on, don't fight in here, there's not enough room..." Taiza comments.

"Yeah, yeah, I know," Galder says.

Galder will probably just meditate the rest of the time, or ask Rura about his mercenary work.

Rianna is napping in the bunk that she claimed as her own, or at least is pretending to do so; you can sense that she's still awake and very angry.

Rura tells you that his work has been pretty boring lately; just this minor war, that stupid little scuffle, etc. But it's money, so he goes for it. The times that you call on him tend to be the most entertaining, but also the most dangerous. He has no reason to believe that this will be any different.

"Do you think there is actually anything to find there?" he asks you.

"There may be," Galder says. "If not, I will probably haggle with the smuggler over treasures and such things."

Rura just shrugs, and wishes you good luck with that.

The remaining time passes relatively peacefully, split between sleep and meditation for the most part, though you don't see anything new. Rianna is still angry and refusing to talk to you, though as you get closer to the planet she gets more and more uneasy.

Finally, the Fortune's Dancer comes out of hyperspace. Your feeling of something being off immediately gets stronger, and Rianna shivers.

"We've got problems, I think," Taiza calls back from the cockpit.

Galder heads up to the cockpit, having been waiting anxiously.

"What is it?" Galder asks.

Is there a co-pilot seat?

Yes there is. Rianna follows, standing behind you, and Rura stays back in case someone needs to take the turret.

"Look. Lifesigns and technology readings. But there shouldn't be anyone here..." Taiza said, pointing at the scanners.

"That's weird," Galder says. "Can you gage how many lifesigns we're talking about? Or how advanced the tech?"

"Uh..." Taiza says, poking at the screen. "A fair amount. Not like a city or anything, though. Not that many. And seems to be a lot of modern tech."

"Weren't here last time you were, I'm guessing."

"There shouldn't be anything here..." she mutters, pounding on the display briefly. The readings remain the same, though. "Still want to set down on the planet?"
