Legend of Zelda Movie

Zelda a book??

1)with a book, you can pick the parts that would work for a movie and the ones that wouldn't

I think you can do the same with all of the games. JUst let the moviemakers play all the games and let them decide what's good and what's not

2)might be easier, since it's already there

So are the games

3)build up a little following, or an "awareness" with the books, and then have a movie that can appeal to everyone

I think you have point here coz look what it did for lord of the rings.
But i don't think it will be necessary because Zelda is almost like LOTR and i think that most of the LOTR fans will go see this movie.

Heh, then you'd have the "people who liked the book better" and "People who loved the movie more" seperation. Just like what it did for LoTR. People might also think that zelda is a lowly game compared to LoTR thus not feeling the desire to see it.
Zelda would make such a good movie though. Definately the person who did the game music has to do the movie score (Koji Kondo I believe)

but then there will be that third party that liked them both equally because they came in a distant second place to the games. I like the idea of the book, but I think that Zelda has a large enough fan base just because of the games. It would also be interesting to see how many Zelda fans there are out there. Matrix had those weirdo net nerd/sci-fi freaks. Who's to say there isn't an equal number of LoZelda fans? after all, this game has been around for over 15 years...

I think that to start something out, like a book, will surely increase a number of fans...not saying that there isn't already enough people out there. Compared to the show, and the creation of that mario movie, Link would be a lot better than in the past, and if they were to postpone that Mario movie 11 years later, then it could actually become GOOD. I'd hate to say, but JP (that's jurassic park) and the lost world were not really that close to the movies, so I think that if you do have a book and it doesn't seem all that right, then someone could alter somethings around (like in the first JP book, somepeople die that don't in the movie). AND, books are actually a lot longer than 6-7 hours if it goes correctly, so if you get the book then you would get all of the things that took up too much time for a movie.

yes make it into a movie! but make it like teenage movie, like lord of the rings type action coz heaps of people see it as a "baby game"
mainly coz of the latest one even though that was a great game

my favourite zelda game is majoras mask just quietly, infact my fav game ever

Someone can shoot me for this, but I think Haley Joel Osment may make a decent Link. And for Zelda.... if she wasn't so old I'd say Claire Danes

They shouldn't base it on any game, but come up with a brand new adventure. Think about it, do you want to sit through a bunch of dungeon crawling through three or more dungeons? It gets boring and repetative. The basic storylines of the games are: gather objects, defeat bad guy at his lair, reach objective. Great for a game, bad for a movie. They need a fresh idea, a new twist, a movie seqel to the games.

And Link needs to be an adult! (he's so much cuter that way...) Not a teen or kiddie flick, but a serious, involving movie like LOTR or Matrix. World-spanning and exploratative. And a decent kiss for Link from Zelda. That poor guy has been through enough for her sake to get <b>something</b>.

Some of the players:
Link: Orlando Bloom might be a good 2nd choice, and anyone but Leo DiCap... arg....
Impa: Halle Berry would be great!
Zelda: Claire Danes might be decent...

The others should be new talent. They've re-hashed the current actors so much, we need some fresh faces. Especially for a new cult-type production. I'm in favor of an entirely new cast... and a CG Gannondorf...

HAlle bBerry as Impa no way. She would want the movie to focus on impa and it's not called The legend of IMPA. Link should efenitley be a newcomer. Ganon CGI nope. i want him alive that way you get the feeling his evilness is real.

I remember watching "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show", where mario n luigi where hosting a show in a basement type room just like the one Mr. Rogers hosted his show. They used to play mario cartoons but 1 time i recall watching a "Legend of Zelda" cartoon, and in the cartoon, Zelda was a pretty bad ass archer. She was wreckin shop on the jumpin spider guys with this sweet ass bow. (the bow looked like the elven bows from LOTR.) So that would be cool if she shot Link in the back with an arrow while he was in dialogue with Gannon. LOL

I still have one of those old video tapes.... unfortunatly "DO THE MARIO!"

Jeremy Sumpter has to be the Next Younger Link. . .
Check him out, he's a fourteen year old actor who's now doing a movie similar to The Legend of Zelda called Peter Pan. . .

You know... I have all thirteen of those old "Legend of Zelda" cartoons on tape....

The script involves a Link that starts out at 9 years old and ends up being 16. It is planed for 2 movies.

The writer wanted a trilogy but doesn't have enough ideas and thought the story would be dragged out too much. So he is compacting it into 2 scripts.

Part 1 involves Link realizing what he has to do, saving his best friend, the forest girl and becoming teen Link. Ganon takes over Hyrule and everything starts getting dark, really dark. Link fights several bad guys and explores 1 dungeon. The ending involves defeating a Dark Link. He meets Ganon but not a lot happens between those two specifically.

In Part 2, Link is trapped in a dungeon prison under Ganons new fortress. He meets Volvagia and there are some problems between them. 😄 ... Link ends up meeting Impa but her role is limited. There are the Twin Witches and Link finally faces Ganon.

I've read the first 20 pages or so of part 1 and a scriptment for it. He seems to be very professional. I hope he knows the right people and gets it done.

What do you think?

I think Kevin Costner would make a good Ganon. A lot of people don't seem to like him, but for Ganon, WooHoo!... like his role in 3,000 miles to graceland, he can be a good bad guy.

As far as the other actors go, new faces would probably be best. And it would need about 3 different links. One to play 9 to 12, one for 13 to 15, and then a final Link for the rest of the movie.

Might sound strange but I can promise you the story I read was very sound. Thought and rethought, planned out great.

What about Jason Isaacs as Ganondorf? He always seemed to be playing bad guys now. . .

interesting, I like it. Kevin costner could make a good gannon if he lifted some weights 😄 I like the script so far 😉

Luscious Malfoy as Ganon? hehehe

Where is this Script at anyways?

He is a friend of mine who is a professional journalist and writes for a major newspaper. He's giving a crack at screenwriting and also loves TLOZ, so he's working on it. There are lot's of fans writing scripts out there, and I really think it will be a movie before 2008 or sooner. And who's to say that my friends scripts will be the ones?

I just thought I'd share his ideas with the 'fans' and see what they think. By the way. Where are some of the more popular zelda fansites at? Couldn't find any with a quick search.

costner has the face to do a good gannon I think

www.google.com is your friend 😛

well, I think that Claire Daines is pretty hot and does seem to look young for being a little older when I first saw her. I wouldn't think that what that one person said about the PETER PAN kid would be bad, honestly, I don't ever recall hearing his name before and I think that would add to the question of WANTING SOMEONE NEW? Also, Halle Berry can go to hell and f*** the Devil, she's a self-centered *****, I heard of her Price for X-Men 2, that's bogus...totally bogus. And about Kevin Costner, I still thought that he was good in Robin Hood, only for the part that it seemed pretty action-packed. But I have a recommendation, try to not pick someone too bulky (Vin Diesel), too greedy (I don't know, maybe someone like tom cruise; even though he'd make A TERRIBLE GANON) or too stubborn... But maybe Jeremy Irons would look like an okay Ganon, but he could be missing a few componants. I'd say though that I think that if someone comes up with something, then that just adds onto things, Like whoever mentioned Peter Pan. Yeah, sure, I suppose that he might be younger than Osment, but that's better cause that way he won't have to act like a 10 year old when by the time the movie comes out (let's say 2008-09) he'd be about 21. Keep this coming and someone might just get that idea of WHO is actually missing from the greatest film of the decade. And I'd have to say that it'd be a even tie with Star Wars, which won't come out til 05, or the DRAGONBALL movie (and trust me, I saw the DB live action movie and it SUCKED, sucked sucked sucked... *ahem*).

I would like to give thanks to CarlEnnui and his friend, who could actually pull off something better than... well, I haven't heard of anything this good since the creation of the NINTENDO.

it is a pickle and there's no doubt about it. . .
