Super Reapers destroy the Reapers every thousand biological life cycles - every billion years or so - so that their programming doesn't get corrupted and they continue their function of eradicating organic life so that technology doesn't take over. The Super Reapers are FOR biological and technological life living together, but that's why they need the Reapers, so that...biological life will rebel against them and eventually merge with the Reapers, showing them an alternative solution to the galaxies dilemmas. Yes. That's their endgame. They were secretly helping Shepherd the entire time which is why he/she never died the 50 times he/she should have.

But now they have changed their mind because sequel.

So anyway, Shepherd forms the Reapers into a giant mecha-zord and uses the Mass Relays as energy weapons. You hide behind galactic clusters and snipe the Super Reapers in the next galaxy. It's a first-person shooter, with RPG elements as you give your planet-sized Reaper limbs upgrades and shoot melee soldiers out of your mouth.

You can also romance Liara again, who is 900 years old.

Bioware. Hire me.

Welp, I'm out. Fun knowing you guys.

Keep in mind Bioware has hinted very strongly that whatever this next ME game is, it won't be a straight sequel to ME3. If it's a sequel, it would likely be a completely new trilogy with new characters, a new protagonist taking place quite a while after the events of the original trilogy. I'd be pretty surprised if the next game is a direct continuation of the events of the first trilogy.

Personally, I expect a new trilogy centered around the dropped dark energy plot line.

I just hope the next Mass Effect doesn't have a plot that ties you down to a specific species. I want a Mass Effect game with a story mode that let's you pick any race you want to be. Krogan included.

That'd be great, though I doubt they'd do that as it would be be near impossible to have unique voice acting for each possible racial choice, unless they half-ass it and just use the same voice actor for each race, at which point it wouldn't be worth it.

Make the main character an Asari.

Hell, make it Liara.

That could be cool.

You could just use the same 3-4 voices for all the dialogue choices.

They just have to use a voice thingie for each of the races. Krogan? Just make it deeper and scratchier. Human, keep it the same. Turians? Make them more vibraty and coarse. Salarians? Speed it up just a bit.

That way, you only have 3 or 4 people doing the voices but the audio stuff makes it many more. WEEENEEZ!

I suppose it's possible. Probably comes down to how much time they have before target release.

Spoiler:
Turian female - a first for the series.

Also apparently it is double the size of Leviathan DLC, thus making it the biggest DLC in the series' history. Also the most expensive at $15.

I just got Mass Effect 3 today finally. Everyone says the ending sucks and I've done my best to avoid spoilers. wonder how this will turn out.

Some news about the next Mass Effect game. It's being powered by the Frostbite engine and is being created by Bioware Montreal, rather than Bioware Edmonton.

Presumably since it's going to use the Frostbite engine it will be out during this generation of consoles and not the next gen consoles that many assumed.

Pretty shocking that they won't be using their core team for ME4. Hudson will be an executive producer on it but won't be handling day to day operations like he did in the previous games.

Not sure what to think. I'm in the point in my gaming life where I think I'm going to be dropping a few series since they reached their conclusion in trilogies. COD being one of them. MW3 was the last one, and ME3's utterly disappointing ending makes me wary of the next sequels.

Casey Hudson wants feedback about when the next game should be set. Should it be pre-trilogy or post?

Put me down firmly for post-trilogy. As I've argued in the past, unless they change the mechanics entirely, a choice-based RPG set where all of histories great moments are already set isn't a good idea.

Although I would find it interesting to play as one of the other races other than human, I doubt Bioware would do this and would instead go for a lame Contact War game. Which would be lame. A game post-trilogy could be very interesting. They would need to pick a definitive ending to ME3 though. I'd go with Control myself. Synthesis is nigh-impossible and Destroy is the one they seem to hate.

Although really they should just do a Jade Empire game.

Agreed. Post trilogy is the only real option if they want your choices to be at all meaningful.

Though I don't agree that they'd have to choose a canon ending for ME3. I don't believe it'd be as difficult to implement the possibilities of all the endings into the next game as it initially seems. When you think about it, what are the major differences between each ending and how they'd affect the galaxy?

There are reapers or there aren't reapers. There are Geth or there aren't Geth. Everyone has shiny Synthesis skin or they don't. There are pretty easy to explain ways around all of these. Assuming the game is set a 200-1000 years after the third game, they'd just have to make The Reapers/Geth not in it very much and not consequential to the main storyline of the new games.

And they could say that the Synthesis skin/eyes was only a temporary symptom of the merged existence and now everyone is back to having normal skin/eyes.

I think there's a very possible chance we might be able to play different races in the next Mass Effect. Why else would we be playing that silly horde mode as them in ME3's multiplayer? Maybe it's Bioware's way of testing how they can be implemented into the next game.

Yeah, I'd love to play as an Asari. I doubt Bioware will offer all the races because of the difficulty that would bring to voice-acting, what with all the races having very distinct voice-tones. And they've indicated that they have no intention of getting rid of voice-acting the MC. So if I had to choose I'd go for an Asari.

Maybe they'll get away with using the same voice, but modified so it has the Turian buzz, the Krogan gruffness or the Salarian pitch.

Maybe for spin offs, for the next main series I imagine maybe one other race.

Because they're all bisexual, that's why.

Still don't get why the Destroy ending was hated but whatever. Being a Krogan would be kind of cool assuming the next Mass Effect allows you to play as different races.
