Heh. Everyone has this realization and has some regrets. But I think the loss is a good thing story-wise. I only lost one, but I also got semi-spoiled beforehand in knowing that I needed to do the "trust" missions with everyone to have a better outcome.

I'm actually curious about some implications in ME3 from losing so many, though. Like, Mordin and Legion have potential roles...I wonder if those sub-plots will change drastically as a result.

My Legion survived, and I'm actually just about to go see the Quarians, so I assume he's somehow involved in that.

Mordin for me, I dunno. I don't know how he died though, as I had done his loyalty mission. Maybe my paragon bar wasn't high enough or something.

Mordin is the squishiest character in the game. If you do anything "wrong" and your chances of someone dying increase - with Mordin usually being the first one to go even if you did his loyalty mission.

Everyone survived in mine, though I really wouldn't have minded if Jacob or Jack were killed off.

I assume you had Mordin hold the line?

Ah...

I romanced Jack lol

Spoiler:

Mordin is almost assured to die if you have him holding the line, he is easily the worst choice for it. He is best used to escort your crewmembers back to the Normandy.

This is foreshadowed by his disapproval of Commander Kirrahe's(?) "Hold the line" mentality you learn of through dialogue.

Grunt and Zaeed are the most capable at holding the line.

I cant say about mordin's, but Legions doesn't change at all except for the end.

I lost three people:

Spoiler:
I didn't want to lose Tali or Legion, so I sent Kasumi in to the pipes. I didn't know Tali or Legion would automatically survive.
I didn't have Zaeed's loyalty, and that meant that letting him lead the secondary team got him killed.
Somehow, Mordin died during the final battle (he was with my non-squad fighting off the Collectors).

I'll have to make sure I have a full Paragon bar next time.

No it's not out yet, but I'll be wanting to get it.

Spoiler:
No. No, Legion is not an auto-survive if you send him through the pipes. I sent him through the pipes because I had romanced Tali and I didn't want to risk losing her. He was the only person I lost throughout the entire mission.

The real kicker for me?

Spoiler:
I had just finished Legion's loyalty mission before the whole "save the crew" episode kicked off, so I didn't get a chance to really interact with him.

As for the consequences showing up in ME3...oh man...just...jeez. Some of the things that happened still send me reeling.

I don't have any of the campaign DLC for any of the three games, either, so I'm still missing out on some fairly major content, I'm pretty sure.

You are. You should get Lair of the Shadow Broker for ME2 if at all possible. It's the best DLC for the series, it's near essential. I also really enjoyed Leviathan. I know some others didn't, though.

Spoiler:
My Legion survived the pipes.

i think it depends on how long you take, and how you set up your other teams. plus, how loyal he is. he can survive, or he can die.

Spoiler:
Yes, if you put the wrong person in charge of the second team (the right people are Garrus, Jacob and Miranda), then the person in the pipes dies.

Kinda counter-productive since Miranda has been established to be a bad leader and Jacob never really showed much leadership either but whatever.

Yeah,

Spoiler:
I put Samara in charge of the second team for some retarded reason.
It was a major snowball.

From that one mistake, came an avalanche of woe for my Shepard. 🙁

I lost no one on my original play, thought the choices were pretty obvious really. The only thing I could see really messing people up was if they didn't know they had to do loyalty missions. Me i'm obsessed with with getting 100% on games I like so I did everything I could just because.

*edit: Except

Spoiler:
Except ****ing Mordin. That is the one thing that I found illogical how easy he falls despite what he showed you earlier and his past, i know he doesn't like to hold the line but I thought an STG could handle himself quite well. I guess it's because he's old.

I've started a new Paragon playthrough of 2. Going to get everything I can.

All I have to do now is decide who to romance...

Finished Omega. Sadly I can't recommend it for the current price. Feels very disconnected from the rest of ME3 and doesn't really add anything of value to the overall experience. It's fun and all, but it's about 4 hours long, and for 15 bucks, just not worth it.

4 hours for fifteen dollars doesn't strike me as being too bad.

Any spoiler free reason WHY it feels disconnected?

==

Also, question. In ME2 if I wanted to assign my people points, I didn't have to do a mission; I could dock at the Citadel or Omega and do it there. Is there anywhere like that in ME3?
