Only you can ever really decide to alter your beliefs anyways.

But now you mention it (its a good parallel actually..)
If atheism, rationality and science is logic and reason based stuff usually Sci-fi kind of implies, (At least it tries to explain stuff) then HP belief requires the suspension of rationality and questioning in favour of accepting the substituted words of scripture in blind faith to explain the seemingly miraculous, where as the non-faith based mindset will always question the answers more....which is healthy.

Maybe there is a fundamental difference there in our mindsets that applies to our arguments there.

I agree, but I have a clause when Wizards using silly magic aren't allowed to live faced against galactic empires....but aside from that, that is pretty close to my philosophy.
