ooooh, the first UFO one!
On Thursday, the paper [Aftenposten] published a cable sent to Washington from Belarus in 2007 which took note of a statement by the head of the former Soviet republic’s intelligence service, who explained that his agency did not have the resources to spend as much time investigating paranormal activity and U.F.O. sightings as it did in the old days. The American diplomatic cable reported that Yuriy Zhadobin, the head of the Belarussian K.G.B., said in December 2007:
Unlike during the U.S.S.R., the department is not engaged in studying paranormal phenomena. [Back then,] we had greater means and opportunities which we could spend on anything and everything. Today the situation is different. Then, when society was excited by something, it entered our sphere of interest. But when it comes to healers, U.F.O.’s and such, we just can’t deal with them any more.
the whole Aftenposten thing is interesting too. They somehow got a copy of all the leaks and have been publishing them. Asange has since called them a media partner, insinuating a relationship with them like he has with the Guardian, but the editor of the paper has said flatly that there is no relationship between the paper and Asange/Wikileaks.
oh, Asange also thinks his new book is going to define the way citizens and government interact in this generation...
so ya, Asange is a CRAZY man
