i counted everything that's super about him. it's around 20 or so if you count things as individuals and not as byproducts. Like PG said, technically durability and strength go hand in hand, but i was counting them as separate powers... that's how i came up with the 20 or so.

If you count them separately wolverine has speed, reflexes, agility, stamina, durability, adamatium skeleton, claws, hearing, touch, smell, sight, low light sight, empathy, berserker,tp resistance's, strength.

so if you nit pick many hero's look like they have a lot of powers, and perhaps they do, but no more then most.

hell if wolverine has 16ish, superman having 20 is nothing.

Great post man. Always dropping bombs.

i counted speed and reflexes as the same thing... but that's all fine and well considering I'm not one of the people who said Superman had too many powers.

Also, i wouldn't count Wolverine's claws as a "superpower", they're weapons. The skeleton isn't a weapon either. Berserker is iffy as well...

k

It is most defiantly a power, it a mutation which be definition grant him super power, his being claws. They are 100% a super power. You got me on the adamatium skeleton, that simply a weapon/ability. Berserker, I would say is a power, it has the ability to amp all his stats....what else would one call that?

He once said they are not a power, but considering they stem from his x-gen which pretty much defines the powers of mutants I would agree.

He did say that before, but he was talking about his ability to controll them. They them self came from his mutant gene which is a power, however he does not need any powers to controll them.

I took "super" to mean superhuman. His intelligence isn't superhuman. Eidetic memory, ventriloquism and voice control are normal human talents. I'm drawing blanks on feats of a superhuman sense of smell too, but that's probably just ignorance on my part.

seriously?

Sure, there are people with eidetic memories and there are people who can control their voices... has anyone in the history of man ever read and retained thousands of pages of info in minutes? i don't think so. His memory and ability to recall are beyond human capabilities. And No one has precise control over their vocal chords... it's a superpower.

But that's superspeed, not superintelligence. There are human characters in comicverse who can control their own voices, maybe he does it better than the average guy, but I don't see it as a power.

i disagree. There are tons of speedsters who can read fast, but they can't retain the info like Superman can.

he has eidetic memory, people with eidetic memory remember everything they read. he can read much faster than regular people with eidetic memory.

would he have eidetic memory and be able to read that fast if he weren't under the influence of the yellow sun? If not, it's a superpower.

He wouldn't be able to read that fast, I don't know whether his memorization capacity of the things he reads in his normal speed would be affected, I don't think it would.

... So marrow who has bones all over her body... That's a super power.. But hers are not...

Angel whose wings would be a result of the x gene... But the wings disappear when he loses his super power...

Various other mutants who gained physical changes... Those are mutant powers and disappear when removed... But wolverines are not...

I'm sure we could name plenty of mutants who's physical appearance changed ecause if their x gene but it doesn't "stay" just because thei powers are turned off...

that is an interesting point, it could also be caused by romulas and really not a power at all.

however on the same point, do we assume powerless wolverine in the forum still has use of claws? Also how about the countless times his claws have been listed under powers?

the claws (the adamantium ones) aren't natural, so they aren't powers.
