Except the DBZ speeds aren't stated to be lightspeed simply based off ambiguous movement visuals alone
They actually have instances of lightspeed or near lightspeed reactions, a couple from as far back as Dragon Ball.
And for the issue of their travel speed being unimpressive, its quite simple. There was a scan posted on another forum (I'll try to hunt it down) that established that DBZ guys can only maintain their top speeds in spurts, and then it trails off into steadier speeds. As opposed to the normal comic convention where heroes build up steadily to their top speed and then can hold it indefinitely.
Let's not bullshit. Wolverine would never be able to tag a DBZ character, he can tag Thanos without much trouble though.
Thanos is no Superman. He has no reaction feats that put him on Superman's combat speed level, Clark is some guy who the DBZ combat speed argument fails against as he's done more complex things at Super speeds than simply punch and kick. (Like building a city in seconds) Things that would be unthinkable for DBZ characters, let alone Thanos.
