They made man, man screwed up, then they sought to destroy their creation.
Also, there is a forum that has theorized why the movie was called Prometheus:
http://www.prometheusforum.net/discussion/1458/why-is-the-movie-called-prometheus/p1
We will know for sure when the second film comes out...as that was one of the things we are supposed to learn. We get to go the engineers. 😄
I was not alive, then, but people said the same of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. So many dang unanswered questions that everyone wanted to know.

They state wy the movie is called Prometheous at the very beginning.. Thats not really a big deal.
How did man screw up any why did they need to create an alien race to destroy men when they were advanced enough to do it on their own. Remember the discovered them 1000 years or more after they had already planned on killing man, therefore man would have been in the stone age and they could have easily killed men with the spaceships weapons or whatever they chose.

Regarding that alien snake, Surprised Leech hasn't brought it up, There's a deleted scene with Millburn showing his love for all things animals foreshadowing the same curiosity and compassion that would later be his undoing.
I only got it on Apple TV, so I didn't get to see this, makes sense Millburn winds up dead from it.
All in all the movie was good and it gave the audience some fascination and wonder about things but a lot of the pieces of the movie made no sense like I talked about earlier.

There is a discussion in the film which all but states the Engineers got pissed when humans killed Jesus Christ.
I shit you not. 😐
We discussed it earlier in this thread with quotes from Scott on the topic.

So they created a plothole by editing out too much of the film? Well, that's dumb.

Even when its an Alien willy that clears warns him of attack by hissing at him and making itself 'bigger' unfolding its flappage and adopting a springed Cobra like attack posture.
Compassion or not, we could still argue that he should have seen that coming, if he knew that much about even earth based nature.
And what of his curiosity and compassion for the non-alien-schlong looking engineers he felt compelled to run from in shadows and fear..?
But soon as he encountered something aggressive but still looked like something that came out of Tommy Lee's pants he was magically enchanted...
Originally posted by KazenjiHe could have been shown petting lions and his actions in that scene would have still been stupid imo.

Saw the film, tonight.Excellent. The best movie I have seen in a while. I have not been that well entertained in a couple of years.
Solid 9 out of 10.
The movie lived up to its hype and then some.

What part of the film are they discussing the killing of Jesus? I should or would have remembered this..
