Behind the wall puts you in the midst of ten militiamen taking up defensive positions. It would distract them from defending the gate but you would add ten more shooters to your problems.
Beyond the wall would work better but you can't fight anyone from there.
(That would be the Galder or, better, Relle option)
3-5 now, as the militiamen on the wall keep up a steady rate of fire. This time, you trust the Force to guide your steps. You take a hit for 4 damage, with a bolt zipping past your leg, close enough to singe your clothes.
Instead of firing, the Captain yells out instructions to the men below to spread out.
You thin the ranks atop the wall further, chopping down two men at once.

The repeater guns are manned but facing out toward the jungle around the colony. They can't hit you.
5-4, Initiative to the one-man army that is Xavier! Also, a Refresh!
Xavier easily dispatches his single target with a two-sabered blow that cuts him in three.
With his men organized how he wants them, the Captain turns his gun on you again. You should have watched out for him! He gets you for 12 damage, his repeating rifle pulverizing the area around you and coming too close for comfort.

You launch yourself from the wall with a ferocious yell, ready to take the fight directly to the Captain. You drop down, tumbling on the marshy ground and rising into a fighting stance...
"About face!" yells the Captain, and his ten men round on you with guns raised, rather than watching the gate.
You freeze, totally surrounded.
"Drop the swords, boy," the Captain chuckles. "Or you'll be dead in five seconds."
You can take up to 70 hits before dropping.
You still have 7 Cleave points, but with the way the Captain has arrayed his men and standing nearly pointblank himself, you sense catastrophic results if you proceed.
However... you have their undivided attention. Goal achieved.
It is at this point that an explosion rips across the top of the defensive wall. You notice the distant flash of a red lightsaber retreating back beyond the wall, into the tree line, and into the hand of an advancing Rand.
Meaning that the Captain's men are rather distracted...
One of the stationary repeating guns. Rand threw his lightsaber into its ammo supply and destroyed it with a loud and noticeable bang. All intentional.
"Kill the squid!" the Captain hollers, before refocusing on you. "I'll handle this one!" He raises his personal cannon once more...
A needle, sparking with energy, rips through the air and past you both. It is promptly followed by dozens more. Rand marches just ahead of a wave of Nokros-An gunners, who all open fire through the open gateway.
The Captain gives you a glare and turns tail, leaving the fight behind while the militiamen go down quickly, unable to oppose the surprise assault.
Crazy ol' Xavier with his split personality...
Rand jumps, nimbly despite his age, up onto the unmanned defensive wall, to oversee the advancing ranks of Nokros-An warriors, armed with their needle guns or dragged behind ravenous beasts on leather leashes.
"We make for the Governor's tower!" Rand yells, in response to you as much as to the Nokros-An. He gestures toward to the tower at the center of the colony with his lightsaber, the red blade sizzling through the damp air and sharply indicating the structure. "It comes down!"
Useld, the treasure hunter and historian, slinks in near you, stepping away from the warriors once he makes it in the gate.
You sense deep conflict within him.
