We use high end screen feats here. High end feat for apparition is in OOTP when Fred and George literally popped out of thin air.

Side along apparition, slight delay. Solo apparition, instant.

They appeared instantly. They did not disappear instantly.

Thing is, whenever the wizards used side along apparition, there was always the swirly effect upon leaving and arriving. Fred and George did not have the swirly effect.

Moot point, because no force attacks can kill in the "slight delay" it takes wizards to side along apparate.
