Ah yeah, cool. I read the Polygon preview and this sounds about right.

Previews from IGN and Polygon and probably Kotaku and more sites have confirmed it's only coming to 360/PS3 and not 720/PS4. PC will probably be announced later

They say it has texture pop in and the graphics aren't all that impressive.

I'll wait for an official 2k confirmation. And it's still early and something as minor as texture pop in can surely be fixed by then especially with how much more powerful and dev friendly these new machines are presumed to be and how much money is to be made potentially.

Gta 5 is the most highly anticipated game of the year. It'd be a big mistake not to release gta 5 for the next gen systems during launch. Billions'd be lost. So I don't think they'd let an issue like that get in the way of such a guaranteed windfall.

Wow....haven't got faith in the current gen consoles.

Is that a question for me, or are you telling me so?

Telling you so.

Well, i'm not really a console player but I do know that they are cash cows and Gta V's a very hotly anticipated game, the most, in fact, so I know the game will succeed on current gen platforms, it'll do real well, as it has before, and a game of this magnitude and with how much money they already have anyway, I don't see any real good reason why it shouldn't be on next gen systems.

Gta 5 will be the ultimate video game of 2013 and what better way than to offer it on all platforms including the new next gen systems. Companies makes a ton of money, even more this time, and the consumer's satisfied, both sides win.

Besides, who wouldn't want or even prefer playing gta 5 on ps4 or the infinity...

It will probably be on new consoles. It depends on when it happens. By the time they had dev kits, the game would of been pretty much done.

But if history has shown, games that are released on current platform and then re-released on next gen usually don't get upgraded massively to take in account the upgraded specs. Too much work would have to go into it.

So your expectations that GTAV will be soooo amazing on the next gen platform is probably a bit too high.

the disappointment of GtaIV still lingers. I'll wait until this one hits the bargain bin, if that. I've exhausted the charm of being able to go on a random killing spree, which is the only thing these games seem to offer anymore.

Maybe if your a 13 year kid....sure

but there's bound to be other stuff to do.

I'm hoping they have better side activities than GTAIV and more of them.

Pool, bowling and darts were alright (bowling was kind of cool) but they had a driving range, a huge mini-golf course and how can you not have underground poker.

Well i hope they're telling the truth when they said

More complex side missions and activities similar to Red Dead. "It's -better to have one really good mini game than five half-assed ones that aren't fun".

Hopefully. I rather have fun mini-games that a ton of crappy ones but in GTAIV, they weren't the best either.

Maybe not. We're talking an AAA game made for next gen systems, that'd be optimized for said next gen system. Anyway I'm more interested in the pc port which should fare better somewhat.

Unless, I sure hope that gta5 doesn't become ported up to the next gen systems from the 360, ps3.

Meh, I'll still play the game somehow. Just wondering

But GTAV is not made for the next gen consoles, it's made for current gen.

If GTAV was going to be on next gen, it will be a port.

But, how technologically regressive is that? With what will be available, right?

I know there's nothing I can do about it but it just wouldn't sit well with me at all, is all i'm sayin'.

It's not regressive. They were working on it before the next gen consoles became a realized reality. And it would obviously alienate the massive number of people who can't afford the new systems right away. It's actually a smart business plan to put it out on current gen, work on the next gen port, and then release that and make even more money.

Yep. They have been working on this for 4-5 years. (I assuming of course), so by the time next gen was behind dev kits came around (again, assuming there was dev kits), the game tech was probably already completed and only being tweaked.

It will be released on next-gen but it will be a port and not the type of game you are thinking of.

but why not do a multi/cross-gen console launch and still make crazy dough all without alienating current gen fans.

to me, if they've been working on this game for so long, only to delay it again, at practically the last minute and coincidentally around the time the ps4 and the infinity launch, tells me it's coming out for the next gen systems this year...

and why not, if it's polished enough for the ps4 and infinity.

It might. I wouldn't be surprised but it isn't going to be leaps and bounds over the current gen.

Also, it's Rockstar, they always delay their games. It's not unusually for developers to delay a month later than planned.

And now they finally announce the collectors & Special editions

For those that are getting it for the consoles
