PSN down due to hackers

Seems like Sony is slowly moving towards the 'XBOX Live' route.

As much as it sucks, hopefully they improve the security of their online services.

not so sure about going the Xbox route, more like EA route... and that happens as well in Live (the pass-code thing)

I'm expecting M$ to pull an Activition and say "we will never charge for mutliplayer... over Live 😛". it's right up of M$ alley to charge more money, but it will a nice free PR thing if they were to never charge for a Multiplayer code and make fun of Sony. They already charge $60, ten more bucks for each game will be overkill

I still hate the pass thing, If it were console specific I might warm-up to it, but it's lock to a single profile, Phuck 'em!

That was Anonymous, though, and they denied responsibility for the PSN hack, especially since it would have just hurt themselves.

Oh, right...some are 16. 😬

It has nothing to do with the age but how good you are.

PSN's New User Agreement Has Class Action Waiver
Now, you can only sue Sony as an individual.

Today, Sony released a new Terms of Service Agreement for PlayStation Network. Dated September 15th and marked as Version 12, the Terms of Service contains a notable section that seems to completely absolve Sony from any future class-action lawsuits.

Section 15 of the Terms of Service, called Binding Individual Arbitration, states in part the following:

"Any dispute resolution proceedings, whether in arbitration or in court, will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class or representative action or as a named or unnamed member in a class consolidated, representative or private attorney general action, unless both you and the Sony entity which you have a dispute specifically agree to do so in writing following initiation of the arbitration. This provision does not preclude your participation as a member in a class action filed on or before August 20, 2011."

Such a move by Sony has likely come out of a series of class action suits filed against the company in recent years. These include lawsuits over the PSN Security Breach from earlier this year, a lawsuit over Sony's removal of Linux from PS3… and, well, more lawsuits over the Linux removal.

The new Terms of Service, which covers not only the PlayStation Network but other Sony Entertainment Network Services, is full of revisions. Be sure to check out the full document for the entirety of the legalese.

😆

This doesn't bother me in the slightest

... But I can see how it could be said this is a dickish move by SONY, and be angry about it.
