Similarly the only copy of Reagan's birth certificate that exists is dated as 30 years after he was born. Again, there is no question about his being an American or not.

If Obama's Family was born in the states then probably the Birth certificate drama would never have started.
I was only asking Why he waited this long to show it since he has been questioned by a huge majority of our nation for quiete sometime. If I was in his shoes I would showed it to the Public along time ago the 1st month people started questioning me and not let the drama expand.
Things like that you should get em over with, not wait.

He did show it. He showed the short version which was a legally recognized version in Hawaii. But they bitched and moan. He showed the long version and still they ***** and moaned, denying and claiming it's a fake.
He didn't show it because no other president had to. Why should he stoop to that level? As president, he holds himself to a higher standard as he should. Just because a bunch of whiners wanted something it doesn't mean he should just give in. He a president and the first black president; him giving in and showing his birth certificate would make him lesser than the other presidents who were never asked about it. He only gave in because these idiots were distracting from important issues. I commend him for not giving into them until now.

It makes him lesser because he's giving in right away just because some whiners are demanding it. Presidents should keep above the fray, not give into every demand made just to satisfy the mob.
Even if they're not doing because of race, he is still the first black president. This isn't Jim Crow America where a black man has to produce papers just to prove his identity. But it would seem that way if he just gave into it and give his papers for a mob. He had to hold out.

It´s ok if Arnold Schwarzeneggar becomes president then, unless asked to be shown his birth certificate no one can prove he wasn´t actually born in California and then moved to Austria after a few weeks.
