He probably had to show it, which he probably did, the short form one, which is perfectly legal and good (as we know now for absolutely sure since we saw the long form, too). The truth is conspiracy theorists don't care for truth, first he showed the valid birth certificate when they first asked, instead of saying "Oh yeah...he's American...whaddya know" conspiracy theorists pretended like it wasn't valid and demanded more, now that he showed his full one, they change it to it being fake, they don't care about truth, they care about their theories they believe as fact at face value. And yes, a portion of so called "birthers" believes it due to racism, whether they admit that to themselves or not is irrelevant, the truth is, it wouldn't happen with a white president of the same background.
