Yeah, I think that fits the character pretty well, as they never delved into which one was particularly true. John's giving PS a definite origin is a mistake, especially as it puts PS in a position where the magical deities know who and what he is. The PS being an engima to absolutely everyone is part of the charm, imo at least...
I wish they could just leave some mysteries and enigmas alone - Phantom Stranger, Celestials... some of these writers think they need to come up with some lame explanation for every damn thing, which just spoils it all.

-Action was good. Nice to see Clark in the tee-shirt again.
-Earth 2 was decent--a filler, more or less. Alan was WAY too gay.
-Dial H was fun.
-Before Watchmen wasn't that great, imo. However, I am very intrigued with Crimson Corsair, so I'll continue reading just for that.
Young gay Alan just came across as creepy and forced. Awful dialogue too. That train wreck didn't come soon enough.
Sword of Sorcery (anchored by “Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld” with a “Beowulf” back-up).
Wow, Amethyst is getting a book again? Most of my interest in the post-reboot universe has faded but that's one that makes me sit up and take notice. Especially since it's got a great artist and the writer has some good credentials too.

I've always enjoyed Amethyst--her original solo series' were very fun reads... I'm just surprised that they'd relaunch such an obscure character..?
Well she's obscure, but has a fan following and a strong concept (magic girl on another world full of magic), and it's tied with a backup story too.
The recent DC fantasy series have been getting solid critical acclaim as well.
Also remember awhile back when DC got complaints about the very noticeable lack of female creators and they said they'd get more? I think this is partially a response, they got Christy Marx who wrote a lot of 80s cartoon, a notable Babylon 5 episode, etc. etc.. So strong credentials to boot.

the Talon series sounds promising, but you gotta believe that Batman will be the series from time to time..
Amethyst, not keen on the little art preview but this just might sell
