What happened?

I know. I felt like I was reading a soap opera.
Lincoln March is actually Bruce Wayne's long lost evil twin brother, Juan Wayne... The Slightly Latin Mustachioed Owlman!!! Dun Dun Dun!!!
The true is even stupider:
Spoiler:
Lincoln March is actually Bruce Wayne's long lost evil younger brother - who for some completely convoluted and nonsensical reason Bruce Wayne's parents kept secret, writing him off as a still birth or miscarge and kept hidden in a secrete children's hospital until they died and court of owls found him because apparently not even Alfred or their lawyers knew about the existence of the child - Thomas Wayne Jr... The Owlman!!! Dun Dun Dun!!!
Lots of glowing reviews of the issue on line, which leads me to believe comic "journalists" are stupid.

I'm shocked that Prep-Man and BruceSkywalker liked the issue! Who'd have thunk that two men who couldn't conjure a single negative thing to say about Batman or DC even if they had their balls hooked up to some Eastern European electrical grid while being tortured by Laim Neeson, would have found pleasure in a Batman book? 😎
The story is so ****ing terrible that people are legitimately asking if my summation is a joke. The reason? Because it's fan fiction level awful. The fact that people seem to like this just enforces the general public's notion that comic books are silly nothing medium for stupid children.

Very immature response from people who have different views on a book. Seriously. If you were to take the time and find out what I liked and didn't, then you would know that the Court of Owls story is underwhelming at least to me. The latest issue was one of the better issues in the whole story, along with the first 2 or so when it started out.
Don't be an ass. 😈

The fact that anyone liked this issue is so mind boggling to me, that I fear finding out what you liked about the issue will induce a brain aneurysm and kill me on the spot. Like HueyFreeman, said this is some week day soap opera level plot contrivances... but maybe you are sad, middle aged, day time drunk house wife, and this just your type of story telling. 😎
Also this current story is Night of Owls - which you are right, isn`t very good - Court of Owls is the good story arc that preceded this one. 😉
Well, I thought I'd try to get back into DC with the JSA.
Two issues later, that answer is a hearty "nope."
I'm somewhat obligated due to my social allegiances not to make a fuss about
Spoiler:That's not even remotely the issue. It seems forced to me given the character he was, but whatever. The reveal actually made me smile (my only one of the issue).
Alan being gay.
JSA Spoilers:
Spoiler:
So, instead of being the original superhero team that acts as a moral compass for the rest of the heroes, a sturdy, guiding light, they live in a world that is already worshiping a dead Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Those guys were the first heroes, and the world is already set up to idolize them forever. Almost reminds me of the "Wolverine actually founded the X-Men" that is apparently popping up in the near future. So. Perfect. What else ya got?The world is under threat of Apokalips, Parademons, etc. which is actually legitimately cool. The obligatory "bigger" threat is also intriguing, if cliche, bait.
Jay is...a purposeless teenager. And when they parade the awesomely classic-looking Mercury into his life, they decide against a classic, regal, godly look, and instead give him a giant tech helmet that makes him look like he belongs in a Saturday morning cartoon. Actually, no, I just remembered. He looks like "Running Man" from the Tick's comics, which is basically a parody of other comics.
It's ok though. He does parkour. That makes up for all of it.
And Alan being gay....again, whatever. I hope the gay community embraces the hell out of him. They deserve a strong, prominent character. But, let's be clear, all DC did was create a new character. This guy might be cool, but it's not a continuation of the original character. That Alan died in the last pre-Flashpoint JSA issue.
I can't even sniff the tone of the original in the comics. Dialogue, pacing, the world they're in. All foreign. If it works, great. But it barely even seems like a spiritual successor to the old JSA.
I'm trying. I really am. I turned on DC after Flashpoint, and I've been trying to let them convince me otherwise with the characters I grew to love, first with Stormwatch and now JSA. They have not been helping me out much.
Also, that Batman thing sounds horrible. Without having read it, I cringed a little. Like "Clone Saga" level cringe.

It's Vertigo, but I'd say DC's best book this week was American Vampire.
I should really give that series a shot.
As for other books, Resurrection Man is pretty interesting. I can't wait until Mitch finally learns who he is. Both Heaven and Hell are at war to bring him in.
And Kindt NAILED Frankenstein this week. Loved the concept of Untropolis. An upside down city in a four dimensional cloud.
