^ Agreed. If Irving would've been on this mini from the get-go, I would have followed it more consistently. The previous artist was horrible. So horrible that I couldn't even get into the comic.

I also read the Silk Spectre issue of 'Before Watchmen'--only so I could read the Crimson Corsair back-up (which I'm digging.) For those who are interested:
Every Wednesday we will be posting each two-page installment here on the DC Comics website for free. So, be sure to come back weekly and keep up with the harrowing tale of Gordon McClachlan in The Curse of the Crimson Corsair!ie. The Crimson Corsair back-up story will be released on the DC website (by itself) each week as it's published. Therefore, I don't have to acquire an entire 'Before Watchmen' comic just to read the final 2 pages. Well played, DC. Well played.
Where the Watchmen are concerned: if it doesn't pertain to Dr. Manhattan or Ozy, I don't give a phuck.

Personally I think is stupid to build family for a character because familiarity and genetics shouldn't be an important thing for a self-made character such as Batman. I think that if you retcon Grayson into being a son of a long-lost Wayne cousing you're falling into some idiotic mythology of ancient pantheons in which everyone was family with any other characters, which is retarded because those ancient pantheons were also entirely separated entities from the get to go.
I disagree with the sentiment of this kind of retcon, I don't see why a character would be important because some genetic relationship, meh.

Anyone a little offputt that the DCU was rebooted so that they could get a fresh start only to reintroduce some of the same concepts that forced them to reboot in the first place. How many years before we have ,"Crisis on the 52"
DC will always have Crises; that's their big event. I don't think it's something they HAVE to do, personally.

When the F*ck is Black Adam going to show up?
Maybe when Billy gets his own book.
Originally posted by -Pr-What I mean is stuff like the huntress (batmans daughters) from earth whatever being in the normal dcu and bruce having a young brother. This stuff is what caused the crisis to be necessary in the first place.

DC is a bit too in-the-moment for my tastes, they don't seem to realize the value that history gives them (It means you can stop using characters, and as long as you don't kill them, bring them back with a splash years later and have instant audience without having to spent time building them up!).
I do wish they took a move marvel-esque approach to events. Rather than start from scratch, do a status-quo changer, do the aftermath for awhile, see how people like it, and then do a new event that either changes things back or otherwise adjusts it. You don't have to throw the baby out with the bathwater to update things.

What happened in CA?
Originally posted by Prep-ManAside from Crimson Corsair, I haven't really enjoyed it. The Ozy and Doctor Manhattan issues are probably the only ones I'll like.
BTW, I have been digging Before Watchmen so far. Silk Spectre is my fav.
Well, bitches, a NEW Neil Gaiman character will be joining the ranks of Justice League Dark.
Hamner would love another shot at the Question, Lemire said Kid Eternity in Justice League Dark, but he did tease that a new character from the Neil Gaiman universe would be joining him in that title soon.
Rumor has it, it will be
Spoiler:
Timothy Hunter
