Meh. We suspend disbelief for every other element of society, I don't see why we would insist that all disabled characters are cured, especially when it adds to their story. That being said, if they're planning to retell the Joker/Batman story and reboot the core elements of that dynamic, the need to retell Batgirl's transition to Oracle may be critical, so hopefully that's the route that this is going? Maybe Gail agreed because this time around, she'd get to play the writer in Babs' transition.
i think they may just give her nanites

I might be misinterpreting the lines on his suit, but is his outfit segmented now? Like armor plates or something?
Supergirl's is better but I'm not a fan of capes with collars. Also, she needs pants or needs to go back to her skirt.
Getting a closer look, I am psyched for Paul's Stormwatch. I think it will be gold. Miguel's art will be perfect for this.
Blackhawk's looks interesting. Glad to see them apart of the DCU. Ken Lashey's art will be great.
Not too sure about the creators of Sgt. Rock, but will try.
Deathstroke looks cool.
Same with Grifter...CAFU! Awesome team.
OMAC...meh, give try.
Another title revealed.
DC has provided Newsarama with this exclusive reveal of another DCnU 'Edge' title, this time the death-row super villains government black ops team the Suicide Squad, by writer Adam Glass and artist Marco Rudy, and starring ... yes, that is who you think it is...Here's DC:
"Harley Quinn! Deadshot! King Shark! They’re a team of death-row super villains recruited by the government to take on missions so dangerous – they’re sheer suicide! Who will be the first to crack under the pressure? Find out in SUICIDE SQUAD #1, written by Adam Glass (FLASHPOINT: LEGION OF DOOM) with art by Marco Rudy (THE SHIELD)."
[editor's note: Newsarama understands our friends and colleagues at CBR revealed their own exclusive look at a new DCnU "Edge" title this afternoon. We encourage you to go check it out there and then head right back here for much, much more DC revamp coverage, including a heartfelt conversation between Gail Simone and Jill Pantozzi about Batgirl/Oracle later this afternoon and Rob Liefeld later this evening.
That's 48 titles by our count btw, only 4 more. Here's looking at you Superman]..
So yeah, pretty much no Captain Marvel or JSA, since there are exactly 4 Superman titles confirmed.
Originally posted by AlmightyKfishSnyder: Yes, overall, it's a solo title. In Batman #1, we'll have establishing moments where you'll get to see the roles played by Damian, Tim, and Dick. They are part of the first issue. But I do want the book to be more of a solo book. Batman and Robin is going to be more about Bruce and Damian. And you're going to have a Nightwing book, obviously. There are going to be places for the team aspect.

Yeah, Superboy is looking a little off, but maybe they're making him gay or something. whatevs. At least that would keep Wonder Girl's character progression from going down the shithole.edit: I'm really liking everything about Supergirl's new look.
Slade looks neat.
Apollo... uh, not into the randomly stretched neck hole on his costume. Any more and they might as well have given him a cape like Emma Frost's lol
That's Jack, not Apollo.
It’s not easy being Jaime Reyes. He has to deal with high school, family and all the drama that comes with being a teenager. Also, he’s linked to a powerful scarab created by an alien race who seek to subjugate planets – or annihilate them. It’s up to one teen hero to turn this instrument of destruction into a force for good in BLUE BEETLE #1, written by Tony Bedard (GREEN LANTERN CORPS) and illustrated by Ig Guara (FLASHPOINT: GRODD OF WAR) and Ruy Jose.
This is great but, unless the counting is wrong, aren't there 53 titles? Hm.
The fact that Synder also says:
"All changes — Barbara's change to Batgirl, Dick Grayson's new job as Nightwing, Bruce Wayne's solo turn as Batman — will be explained in story"
Pretty much solidifes the fact this is just a renumbering, at least for the Bat books. Which means Cass and Steph etc are all still part of the family, which means this is pretty much the best case scenario (for me at least) in terms of what could of happened (other than Babs as Batgirl, but at least it's Simone writing) to the Bat books.
And no JSA is pretty surprising
