Might need you to elaborate a little more.

It seems that every adventure superman had still happened in the past but got manipulated by Vind-whatever-ix has manipulated them away or so I read in the comic and heard on CBR.

I was more asking what "Superman RIP" was, but okay.

So in Mxy's first DCnU appearance, he creates a universe just for shits and gigs? ElOhEl.

Mind you, I'm only reading this with one good eye, but the 3-D universe Mxy created-- was that the mainstream DCU? Didn't know why else it'd refer to Superman as "Mxy's favorite trick"..?

It was the mainstream DCU, folded in his hat, lol.

That's the impression I got. Mxy created the mainstream DCU as little more than a parlor trick to impress other 5-D beings. Then he'd routinely "juggle matter and time" just so he could playfully trick/tease some of the inhabitants of that universe (from hundreds of different worlds), simultaneously. Man, I've always enjoyed Morrison's take on Imps, and this is why. He gets it.

Anyway, maybe that's way Superman always thwarts his opponents no matter how down he seems to be... He's got a little Mxy in him. 😉

I don't know about creating, but the fact that he casually toys with the main DC Universe, as nothing but a hat trick, speaks quite a bit on the power he wields.

I love that Superman is the only one to constantly outsmart Mxy out of all the heroes he encounters throught time and space - his imagination outstrips a being who is from a dimension that is imagination [and who has the greatest imagination there, being the king's go to guy] - which gets to the essence of many of Superman's adventures from the Pre-Crisis days [and what should ever be present in his stories] - imagination and creativity that ran wild [in the good sense].

Agreed. The fact that Mxy can pull a working 3-D universe from his phucking derby hat, and manipulate it at a fundamental level for the lulz, does speak volumes about his powerset. It also speaks volumes that out of every being in the universe, only Superman can outsmart him.

I also agree that Mxy may not have(and probably didn't) create the mainstream DC universe-- but how would you explain this?:

"The Man of Steel was the imp's favorite trick-- not his greatest."

umm

I understand that as him using Superman to entertain both the kind and himself, not necesarily him creating Superman [eventough it might get confusing with his and the imp princess's son also being called a 'trick', and it being Mxy's creation, sort to speak]. Kind of like how a magician pulls a rabbit, or a pigeon out of his hat, doesn't mean he created it, but he's using it as a trick [i.e. the main DCU, Superman etc]. Superman is the trick that tricked back, as the princess put it.

Ultimately it's irrelevant, if he could do that as casually, he could obviously create a Universe similar to it. It's just a matter of..imagining it. 🙂
