DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

At least it's just an origin story, not an ongoing thing unless the guy starts bringing it up all of the time.

I wish they had, tbh.

Anyone read Batgirl? They revealed that her roomie is

Spoiler:
transgender
, which, while not the first one in comics, is still a positive step I think.

Is Simone still writing Batgirl?

She might have written the most recent issue, but I don't know what's going on with that situation.

A positive step toward what? Why on God's green earth do we need to read about trannys while browsing through an issue of Batgirl?

On another note, I tried reading some of the First Lantern stuff. Whoever said that it was 'pretty good' a while back is an idiot(no offense.) Srsly though, it blows. 👇

I figured Simone might still be writing or at least had a lot of notes left over from her run, simply due to the fact that she's a pretty big LBGT supporter.

I've stopped following GL shortly after the New 52 began. I felt Johns basically peaked on the mythos ages ago and it just seems like they keep trying to "up the ante" as far as impending cosmic doom goes.

I liked most of Johns' stuff, but the first lantern arc has been the weakest in a while, imo.

I'm not sold on the new guy at all.

I haven't read any newer comics at all lately(aside from some Indie stuff here and there), so GL was a horrible place to try jumping back in.

It's sad because I was really into the GL stuff around Rebirth and I liked SCW, Blackest Night, and Brightest Day (though SCW was clearly better than the others, imo). Nowadays, I could really care less. Taking Hal off of the main Justice League team didn't help either.

And to be fair, I don't envy the new guy coming after Johns. Dude basically, for better and for worse, revamped the entire GL mythos. I certainly wouldn't try to write any crazy ass epic space operas anytime soon. I'd actually like the GL's to go back to telling space cop stories for a while and just cool it.

I may try looking into JL: Dark, if only to get a better sense of the Trinity War event.

I think the biggest issue with the GL book was making Hal a secondary character.

I love Sinestro as the main character in GL, tbh. A breath of fresh air. Superboy was actually pretty good as well.

when sinestro is the main character, it's usually alongside hal, not marginalising him.

Having Sinestro and Hal together is fun in my book. Johns GL is the only GL title I'm enjoying. Somestimes New Guardians.

I like it when they're together. Just not when they're both together being marginalised.

Looks like Sinestro isn't going to be a GL for much longer. Back to the Sinestro Corps.

I don't think GL isn't anywhere nearly as bad as what some people say, drama queens lol... I do think it was time for a new GL to be introduced, but I wouldn't have made him/her come from Earth. We already have Alan (kinda), Hal, Kyle, Guy and John Stewart. It's nothing to do with Simon Baz as a character, its just we already have 4 and 5 if you count Alan. Maybe this was why they wanted to kill John for awhile.. 😂

Crisis on Infinite Earths type of reboot. Just damn. This could be great.

It's horrible. I'm surprised they are letting it happen the way they are as the First Lantern had potential and then.....we got shit.

You can start at #0 and then jump to #9, or start at #9 and jump back to #0 after #13.

Either way, skip the first 8 issues. Basically worthless.

I quite like it. Not to say First Lantern story arc is anything epic/great, but Johns continues to be consistently good. Plus, overall Baz is an entertaining character so far. Bring on Vendetti, though. Everything I've read from him has been good. Including XO Manowar.

Yeah I like it as well, like you and many others. First Lantern has been entertaining, maybe not so much like SCW or BN but its a new story so of course its going to be different.. Baz is a nice character. Hal should be back to being the main one in his book next month after his little break.
