This is true. I was actually pissed that Diana encouraged Superman's bullshit, but relieved to find out that while they were in an alternate reality, the "real" Diana was quick to put the Regime one in her place. Initially, I figured Injustice was solely focusing on one Earth's warped heroes, not a clash between two Earth's heroes.
Personally I blame Infinite Crisis for the 'self-righteous' thing. It tries to present all three of the trinity as having issues (Batman being too paranoid, Superman going through the motion and not being as inspiring), and gave her that label.
But... I'm hard pressed to think of what exactly she was supposed to have done to have earned it.
Like, every elseworld since then has used it in spades- Flashpoint, Injustice. Hm, I guess it was in Kingdom Come a bit too? But in her main universe book or JLA before that, not so much that I can recall.
