If anything, the Justice League movie should raise Aquaman's stock quite well.
I think the upcoming Flashpoint Paradox will be crucial. Even if the Atlantean/Amazon war is a sidestory to the main Flash story, AQ must steal every single scene he appears in (similar to the beatdown he gave evil CM in Crisis on Two Earths, only even better)
It is probably only me, but I find it bothersome that in 2013, despite how offensive and incorrect it is, Black Adam, a 5000 year old Kemite/Egyptian continues to be depicted as Caucasian. I understand why he's never beem depicted as black African, but does he have to appear so obviously European? Depict him as Kemites were or give him a different origin. Anything less is insulting.
As for JLA 21? I thoroughly enjoyed it, his new origin story, and am pleased with the resurgence of the Marvel Family. I'm interested in seeing Billy's power levels fleshed out given the additional ability of spell casting, and how he and Adam now stack up against DC's primary power players. Looks like Shazam is finally fighting his way from out of Superman's shadow, and Im excited to see where DC goes with him from here.
Tony Bedard interview about Black Manta and Ocean Master
Terms used by Bedard to describe Aquaman "Super-strong titan", "Godlike being".
Good times to be an Aquaman fan. 😎

I heard he was barely involved, but I hope he is.

My God, Johns has his hands in everything. Good for him, but damn, it doesn't seem like DC can make a move without him.
I rather Johns be involved in everything. Too be honest, I like how he does he work. Sure it's not crazy good or always on the scale that some might like, but like I said, he fleshes out the characters and stories. Before him, GL was horrible. Remember the days of them being weak to wood or yellow, for no good idea.

They've allowed Johns to become far too intertwined in the fundamental structure of the company for his(or their) own good, imo-- they've given him too much power. The guy could likely collapse the entire company IF he were to make a few stupid corporate-level decisions.
It's cool that Johns is the guy in DC, but at the same time it would be for the best if DC shifted some responsibility off of him.
Doubt it would ever happen, but either way, Johns unarguably has DC wrapped around his pinky.

Exactly my point. 👆

Aye. As good as he is, no company should rely on one man so much.
That's why they should hire us instead.
