Justice League was awesome. Jake and I were right,
Spoiler:
Superman cannot handle opening Pandora's Box. Clearly it's going to be Billy.

Also, Billy's reaction when he

Spoiler:
punched Superman
, literally made me laugh out loud:

Classic moment. 👆

Aside from that, I had figured that

Spoiler:
The Question
would be the proverbial 'behind the scenes' mastermind of Trinity War--above even the 'Forever Evil' villains--but apparently he's not.

👆

Looks really promising so far.

I'm really hoping the mastermind of the Trinity War lives up to my expectations, and the whole story doesn't just end up being a PIS-riddled mess.

Off to a pretty good start so far though 👆

So, I guess the poster on CBR might have been right. The mastermind looks to be

Spoiler:
Outsider from Flashpoint

Love this interview. I've been wanting someone to build the League of Assassins for a while and build on the mythology. Tynion is doing just that. DCnU League of Assassin's has been a team to be reckoned with. 👆

o I wanted to go at this and introduce the characters in a way that would draw something out in Jason but also show a new corner of who they are and why they operate like they do. I wanted to show that there's an assassin they'd send after a highly technological superhero. There's an assassin they'd send after John Constantine if he ever crossed them. I wanted them to have a wide reach and a scale to them that they often don't have since they've often been faceless ninjas in the background who stand behind Ra's or Talia. That's really where this all came from: the desire to do world building, establish new elements and use the New 52 to build something new that could last in continuity.

I really hope he doesn't **** it up and make them just another team of superpowered bad guys. I want to see actual assassins.

He's starting out good so far. Cheshire has been a beast.

I always felt that Ra's should be way more powerful (resource/influence) wise than he is normally portrayed. I have no issues with him being a Batman rogue (he's certainly his most dangerous), but he should be also throwing down with other guys outside of Batman more regularly (with Batman being his chief enemy, of course).

Agreed. Ra's should be Vandal Savage level.

Anyone?

BTW, anyone have any idea what Xandadu was talking about when she said, "They're already here" They're coming. Or whatver. Did she mean the Secret Society? Or somebody much bigger?

Thoughts?

No, he shouldn't. Close, maybe, but still inferior.

👆

Vandal's got the stats advantage, and should be in all reality, both wealthier than Ra's and have access to greater resources.

Thought that'd been made obvious by johns, personally.

Exactly.

Savage should always(and rightfully so) have much, much better overall stats than Ra's, given that he's basically a phucking Neanderthal. He's also been alive for 50,000+ years, whereas Ra's has only been around for what? Under 1,000 years? Savage's resources *should* be astronomically beyond his...

Another really compelling issue of Superman Unchained. Between this and Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics The New 52 has been a pretty great time for Superman comics.

Spoiler:
The First Born did a number on WW and put her on a three day medical coma. When they arrived on New Genesis she collapsed, and it's noted that her internal injuries were pretty severe and life threatening.

In comparison Orion after they arrived wanted to immediately go back for Lennox, but Highfather forbid it.

New Genesis looks amazing and Highfather steals the show.
And Orion (if you also consider Superman 20) seems to be at least stronger and more durable than WW.

Yeah, but the Superman series has been pretty meh, and AC has been only ok since Morrison left, IMO. Justice League isn't doing anything special for anyone, including Superman.

Agreed. Morrison's AC and Unchained are merely decent. Meanwhile the Superman book itself has been awful.

Really like what they are doing with New Genesis. I really like that they are sorta of like the cosmic defenders of the multiverse.

If lee wasnt on art i cant help thinking that the book would be a much poorer read. Action and superman are ok... Imo the best superman book right now is justice league.

And supbats is the worst imo.

Superman line is pretty meh. Justice league isn't doing any favor to him either.
