As for her guns, I do believe that they are haxxed, and could likely kill any being not directly protected by God, as Phantom Stranger is.

I agree with the guns.
Looks like we were right about Pandora's guns:

The first bullet pierces Superman's shoulder as though he were a regular human. Luckily Dianna's bracers(which have always been haxxed as f*ck) were able to deflect the other two bullets before they hit a more vital part of his body.

Note that Pandora was also fast enough to avoid a punch from a berserker Superman-- which is quite impressive as well.

You mean the jumping?

Yeah, it was nice to see it in action (although he had also jumped on a flying plane in 5, this is the first major fight he's gonna have against a flyer)

Details I know...

Yeah; I'm looking forward to it. I'm guessing that Johns rates Hawkman pretty highly?

random: I still hate his characterisation of Selina.

He had Hawkman do beyond mere "good" against Shaggy Man in JLA tanking hits and doing damage with his Nth Metal equipment, so he certainly seems more powerful than his solo book (where he had problems with Deathstroke - although DS is also a beast in Nu 52) and I might say even more powerful than before Nu52.
It will be a good brawl but realistically AQ should win.

As for your question,

Spoiler:
Yes

Ah, okay, thanks. I've only started reading his solo series, but the name on his card struck me as hinting at his origin.

All implications point to yes.

-he betrayed his greatest friend, and was referred to by the CoE as 'the great betrayer'.
-he was so guilty/remorseful about this betrayal that he hung himself prior to being judged by the CoE.
-he is now bound by pieces of silver to remind him of his great sin.

Oh; okay.

I was literally just going by the card in JL, and I only started reading issue 0, so it was just a guess lol

I was surprised that not even Xanadu's tarot cards hinted at The Question's role/identity.
Phantom Stranger='The Betrayer'
Pandora='The Hostage'
The Question='Unknown'

...wtf?

Yeah; if even her cards don't know, that means something is definitely up.

I'm sure Johns will do something clever, but damn if I don't miss Vic Sage.

Hopefully Johns'll still use a real world figure as The Question's identity*cough*Caligula*cough*. But if Xanadu's omniscient tarot cards weren't able to prophesize(or even hint at) his role/identity, then it's starting to look like Johns might invent an entirely new fictional identity for the Question-- one that no one has ever heard of before. Hope not, but it sure is looking that way, imo...

And yeah, Vic always was, and remains to be, the shit. 👆

The fact that we're even discussing it means that, imo, Johns is doing a good job so far, and this opener didn't feel as filler-y as some first issues tend to do. I hope it continues in the next issue.

And yeah, Caligula would be a good bet i'd say.

^ Word. Not knowing his true identity is starting to get to me, lol. F*cking Johns!

😂

I'm more concerned with what's going on with Superman; Johns talking about him like he isn't "purely good" is very interesting to me, especially with how much his goodness was stated before the reboot.

^ Yeah that was strange, but not completely unexpected given that Billy is now in the picture. And even though I know that Supes didn't really kill Dr. Light, they way he attacked him all berserker-like seemed very, very out of character to me.

Aye. and yeah, Johns is really trying to push Billy, it seems.

It does raise the question though: Was Pandora wrong, and Superman has inherent badness, or was he under the influence of something even she's unaware of?

I know the latter was hinted at, but still.

Perhaps exposure to the Box introduced evil into Superman, he wasn't strong-willed enough to overcome it, and it is now taking him over..? To me it almost seemed like something was corrupting him toward the end of the issue.

Upset or not, under normal circumstances I can't imagine Supes attacking anyone with the berserker rage he attacked Dr. Light with. T'was an action hugely out of character. I mean, it's not like Dr. Light killed Dianna-- he just blasted her away. So yeah, he's possessed imo.

I just hope, if that is the case, that it's not portrayed as PIS on Superman's part.

I will say that, while tackling Light didn't strike me as being OOC (protective boyfriend and all), It almost felt like something took over him after that; probably the possession you mentioned.

👆 It's the kung fu training.

JL was pretty good, Superman Unchained #2 was probably the best, and GL Corps was alright too.

Dianna wasn't able to dodge his punch. Just saying. 😖hifty:
